So I play against Legion a lot, and have found that Cephalyx tend to struggle a lot into it. With Legions easy access to eyeless sight, I feel pretty helpless trying to keep my unit leaders alive, and with their long threat ranges, I've even had trouble keeping Thexus out of harm's way. So I guess my question is, what solutions have others found when dropping Cephalyx into Legion? Now granted, I'm still fairly new at the Cephalyx thing, so it could just be lack of experience on my part. Or it could very well be that Legion in general is a bad matchup. Either way if there is help out there to be had, I figured I'd ask for it! Thanks in advance!

I would assume Cyphon loaded up with monstrosities would be the better drop against a legion player.

with legion being able to snipe out your leaders, wouldnt bank on Cyphon because he doesnt help with MAT outside of Breathstealer. If they can scalpel out your agitators then you're left swninging against DEF 14+ heavies that cannot be knocked down often and hit very hard against your armor. stay the course with Thexus, get used to adrenal floods and TK to maximize MAT buffs to get hits. Legion beasts are often squishy if you can hit them, so a flooded drudge in the back arc can be effective MAT 11. Ambush is also very important here to knock out some key support (forsaken and sheppard mainly). learning how to snake a bender unit up the flank to flood the ambushing drudges makes a flanking maneuver very real. good luck.

Thanks for the advice! Granted the person I play against is a big fan of Ravagores, so I tend to see a lot of eyeless sight and big AOEs. It makes it hard cause he can usually take out my slaver leaders before they have a chance to really get in and do anything. Is that normal? For instance last game I was running three slaver units, and at the end of the game I only had one slaver leader left (the one that ambushed), and if he hadn't have just gone for Thexus (dumb positioning on my part) he probably would have just shot the crap out of my last slaver unit and left me with only benders. The other two leaders survived, with one even being around long enough to have his drudges hit the enemy, until about the time his Ravagores made it into range.

thats a pretty bad scenario i do have to admit. if he is able to scalpel out your leaders then i would say that you need to get better use out of your formations. Stealth being mitigated is not something you should always worry about though. perhaps if you're have a long term issue you could run Cyphon. I am hesitant though because of the MAT issue. I am hopeful though because the ravagore chassis is DEF 11 and can be taken down rather quickly in melee if you concentrate correctly. I am more concerned that you need to keep your agitators alive, but since they have sac pawn they often have less of an issue getting up the field. give a monstrosity heavy list a try, i think it works well with both Thexus and Cyphon, max out on agitators and don't forget an ambushing slave unit to disrupt the back line. both casters need to just stay out of the killbox, and giving cyphon a min unit of benders as a vanguard/fuel for range amplifier is never a bad idea. getting breathstealer down on multiple targets now that it isn't an upkeep can really help with pressure, and don't ever downplay gallows, which can catch an opponent off guard and often net you a free heavy in the piece trade.

Thexus 28 -Wrecker 14 -Wrecker 14 -Wrecker 14 -Warden 10 -Warden 10 -Subduer 11 Agitator 3 Agitator 3 Agitator 3 Slaver (max) 12 Benders (min) 7 Machine Wraith 2 Overlords (free)
Maybe something like that?
