As the title says, incorporeal confuses me. Sorry if it is so apparent to everyone else, but I need some clarification please.
1. Do incorporeal models count as being engaged, if in the melee range of someone without magic weapons?
2. Likewise, would an incorporeal model be engaging an enemy model, and therefore not allow shooting, or not allow an arc node to channel.
3. A model loses incorporeal if it makes a melee attack or ranged attack, does this include magic attacks?
thanks

1) Yes. Incorporeal models can be engaged by models even if those models don’t have magic weapons. Those models can still make Attacks & free strikes against Incorporeal models, they just can’t damage them. Should those models have special rules attached to their weapons such as Crit Shadow Bind on the Naga Nightlurker’s bite, Crit Stationary on a Man-o-War Demo Corp’s Maul, or Knockdown on a Siege Animantarax’s Tail they can still effect you. The only things Incorporeal makes you immune to is non-magical damage & continuous Fire & Corrosion. Everything else such as Shadow Bind, Blind, Knockdown, & Stationary is fair game and will effect you.
2) Yes, you can engage enemy models and shut down shooting & Arcing, although there is nothing stopping your opponent from simply walking out of your Melee range since an Incorporeal model cannot make free strikes. This is a good way of getting rid of aiming bonuses though.
3) No. Magic Attacks & Spells do not break Incorporeal. If Deneghra2 goes Incorporeal she will stay that way even if she casts Venom, Hellmouth, ect. Likewise if she Feats on a Cephalyx Overlord, that Overlord can Spray while staying Incorporeal. This is why people called Agrimony an idiot proof solo. She has no way of breaking her Incorporeal. She will always be Incorporeal no matter what she does, unless your opponent has a method of stripping the ability.

Hey, another thing I leanred about incorporeal in a recent game is that not having magic weapons only means that you won’t do damage with an attack against an incorporeal model. A model without magic weapons can still swing at your incorporeal model to apply other effects. For example, the Ironclad with Critical Knockdown can swing at an incorporeal model and if it rolls a crit to hit, it knocks the model down, although it won’t do damage. It was a surprise when I learned that!

It was a surprise when I learned that! It's a common misconception. Whenever my opponent says "it's Incorporeal so I can't hit it", I correct him and say that he can, just can't damage. Similarly, you can target Stealth models, you just automatically miss. Many people play this wrong as well.
