Hi all, Ive just started playing this theme to get back in the game. I only played 2 games so far, one of which I just completely blew turn 1 because Im rusty lol but I have a few initial questions. The second was vs a melee heavy vyros1 dawnguard army I ungracefully attritioned out
For the record my list atm is: krueger, woldwrath, 2x warden, 2x wyrd 2 shifting stones, 2 sentry 2 blackclad wayfarer, 2 sotneshaper
Question1 zones: Since the list isnt crazy stat-wise, my plan is to play for screnario as safely as possible while keeping an eye out for assasination or attrition options. I assume this is the general approach? Ive actually found this hard to do because of the low number of activations, it's actually quite tricky to fully clear zones. Ive traded both wyrds turn 2 though I feel they could help clearing singletons a lot, and I couldve kept them safe if I feated.
Question2 feat: I went second and saved feat till turn 2 to try help clear zones. I think this was wrong, if I feated turn 1 I would have saved both wyrds and a sentry and had another turn of shooting. Do people find themselves feating turn 1 usually to try get a good alpha instead of cheesing scenario turn 2? What about when going first?
Thats mostly it, feel free to drop any general tips you may have too!

I played Krueger 2 quite a few times and honestly I don't think the Woldwrath is worth the points for him. I find he goes down way to quickly with out having an arm buff and its hard to get the work out of him you need to. Geomancy models really amp up his army. Adding more models will help with your question 1 as you can potentially TK and destroy more models. Q2 really depends on what they are running. If you can get some TK's into low model count lists you can delay the feat or if they are a slower army. Maplewhisky has been doing some battle reports with him so you can get someone elses perspective too.

It does seem like the woldwrath<another warden and a fulcrum, but I just don't want to buy that stuff haha. It is a list people run though so I hope it has answers regardless.
Oh ADDITIONAL Q: What are the meta casters to worry about in this case. I'm thinking of pairing baldur 2 or baldur 1 for some gunlime reselience, bones in both cases with same list pretty much seems better than warpwolves but not sure.

With Krueger he should be good into most ranged lists unless they have a lot of range 12 or higher weapons. With Windstorm making guns -5 range it pretty much neuters range 10 weapons. I think the Baulders are usually the typical pair with him. B2 works well with Woldwrath and Megalith.
I am pretty much in the same boat as you. I dont own a fulcrum yet and need to buy a few more Wardens to really make the list work for me so I have moved onto a Baulder2 Kaya3 pair until I can get them.

maybe theyve been erratad since I left, werent snipe-heavy gunlines a huge thing in the meta? Has sloan received the velvet glove?

Cut some points in support (I'd go for second Wayfarer) and switch Woldwrath for Megalith+Fulcrum. His beating is not that far below WWrath and you get another Geomancy and Fulcrum ranged game and fury manipulation. You'll also have a couple of spare points for swamp gobbers of a gallows grove!

However I will say there is a new Sloan 5x5 list that seems pretty potent. Its 5 minutemen and 5 hunters. Minuteman would be essentially range 1 under Windstorm but the hunters would likely still get shots into you. Khador WGR spam is still a thing though I see it less locally.

This list needs more Megalith!!! I didnt want to drop any of the existing solos or units. Considering I already have a numbe of of activation issue I dont think the right move here is to tie more points into lith.

For question 2, if u get 1st turn, then a turn 2 feat is almost always best with Krueger2. Especially after a few geomancied TK’s and shooting to push their threat waaaaaay back, meaning u can often clinch victory turn 3 or 4 almost automatically by scenario presence. I agree w others tho. Krueger2 loves access to more geomancy and u’d need to drop Woldwrath to get that. Woldwrath would do far better in ur Baldur list instead.

I have a friend Andrew who plays a very similar list to that, same heavy loadout at least but I honestly think Megalith should be in there somewhere. His animus swings quite a few matchups. The Woldwrath is generally a stronger attrition piece than scenario, and imo SR2017 punishes huge bases quite a lot (harder to contest 2 zones, the places it can stand are quite limited etc). In any case if you wanna keep going with the wrath build I think I would try to get either Megalith or a Mist Speaker in there. Good luck! Edit: Oh and don't plan when you feat at list construction. Sometimes it's bottom of 1, sometimes it's bottom of 3. Play the actual game and worry about it then.

eh, it's true that I like to run krueger more geomancy heavy, but I've always loved to jank people with the wold guardian + shifting stones top of 1 trick just to apply an ample amount of pressure. It also makes him a magnet for attacks, which his beef can take plenty of if it means getting everything else up the board unhindered. Essentially, run the guardian his full 8 inches, making sure part of his base is inside the shifting triangle. Then activate the stones and teleport him further forward, fixing any speed issues he might seem to have. His sudden "jump" up the board immediately takes all attention off of your other models, allowing earlier placements to go unnoticed against your average player. I've found this helps with keeping the wyrds from dying early on. However, I tend to run Baldur1 with bones more often than Krueger2. I see krueger2 to be a nemo3 negater more than anything... and I have had that match-up before, a krueger2 list that focused on geomancy against a nemo3 that focused on the storm troopers. He ended up winning on scenario after taking out my sentry stone, such a big mistake x.x;
