Y'all inspired me! Here's my contribution to the pot: Thyra body+ash weapons+statuesque minis headswap (matches my female llaelese exemplars) Eeeeeexcellent... soon all will own an awesome personalized Ashlynn bwuahahaha! I love how you went with the menoth/llael theme and are matching stuff up! Can we have a group picture sometime? My next step will be trying to figure out my final LR list I want so I can make a neat matching army as well I'm loving these! Also, as much as I'd love to be "droopy flag suggester", that was not me. Ironically enough, I'm just catching up on this thread and that was going to be my suggestion though, so great minds think alike? I'm personally loving mournful Ashlynn. Angry Ashlynn is great, but not really my style (not the mini, just the attitude isn't how I see her). I'm about to start painting the Ashes one and that will be my second, but I think I might strip the first one I made, do a head swap, and start over. It was one of the first minis I ever painted and it is...not good. The head didn't help, but it's not an excuse. Gah sorry Xintas and fallenexile, I have no idea why I suddenly swapped your names, especially since this is Xintas' first post on this thread lol. Maybe I was reading another post before I posted here, I dunno. I'll try to get a good droopy flag done this weekend to hopefully make up for my error Yeah if I am completely honest I prefer mournful Ashlynn at this point as well, even though she still has no feet (I cut off the left foot as well as it had that weird 'pretend it has a heel even though we can't have if for strength reasons' design going on and her new leg was a bit longer than her old leg so I added a bit of length). No pics yet but I bulked out the hair (still need to fix up the details) and gave her a neck. I just had so many random accidents while trying to work on her that I decided to put it down and wait until I had more time (worked on her for 2 hours but probably less than 30min of finished work made it). As for Angry Ashlynn, she has a neck/pin built off her new head now as she fell apart while I was gap filling (same night I was trying to sculpt on mournful lol). I will probably pin the sword arm as well, the raised weight was just a bit too much (I was hoping for an easy build for her but alas)

Alright, as promised I tried to make some sad looking flags this weekend, but tbh I'm not happy with any of them. Here is the one I am most ok with currently:
But honestly, looking at that, and then looking at flagless: (don't mind the shoes atm, they are still being blocked out. I also elevated the stone bases to give her a better angle
)
I actually might just cancel the flag, or at least switch to a small as the big one takes way too much attention.
What do you guys think? (Angry next post)

And here is more or less the final setup of angry ashlynn, lots of drilling. Note the mouth looks huge and terrible but it is actually discoloration on the green stuff that makes it look like its huge lol.
Maybe more fires later, and some touch up work on the hair. Its probably going to head to 'to be primed' box before the week is through (I am DMing a new campaign this Sunday, so that means I will be priming a batch next week in all likelihood). If my new job doesn't shatter me this week, I'll try to get mournful Ashlynn prepped in that set as well, as I always find greenstuff rough to look at after a certain point.

I really like the flag just flying behind her. Personally I think it looks good, but its obviously up to you.

I really like the flag just flying behind her. I agree, I think this iteration looks better with the flag.

Here's a better group shot for you: If I ever finish the errants I'll post a shot of the full units, I've been putting off making a llaelese flag for the standard bearer. I also need to put more time into painting the horses.

Maybe they all blacken their hair with the soot of their burnt homes to remind them what they have lost
Thanks for the group shot Gobber, they look very good indeed!

Then shouldn't Ashlynn's be red in honor of her dad. You know, being murdered by Khador and all...

Although it could be black for her father as simple mourning I guess. Maybe even blackened with the deep earth scattered from where her father had to dance in the mortar rain?

Or pink, in honor of the pink mist he became when the mortar hit its mark...
