How often does a vassal game (at full 75 points) typically last for other players?
Thus far I've only ever used it for facing a single opponent across the country. Each of our games tends to take approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Which seems excessive. The latest match was closer to 3.5 hours due to being a bit rusty after a few months of not playing.
Part of this is due to being a bit slow in our gameplay, easily clocking out at normal tables with our infantry-heavy armies (40 model bane army vs trenchers). I believe I was taking around 10-20% too long per turn at last check. Another part of this is just being slowed down by the interface when dealing with large numbers of models. I'd like to know if this is just a gameplay speed problem, a matter of learning the interface better, or an issue with Vassal gameplay being slower in general.

Part of playing vassal is learning to play faster and ignore the laser accuracy. This brings it more in line with the tabletop. Like you can zoom in and make things pixel perfect measured but boy your game will be slow and dull. Want to run a 10 man unit? Shift 2 (12" bubble) and drag to the dge of the bubble. Do that with the 2-3 models running furthest then no one else needs to be measured because theyre running up with them and spreading out etc. Basically - play fast when you can, play tight when it matters like assassination. I can get games down to 2 to 2.5 hours. Depends on opponent speed though and how long the game goes
