I loved him, had I played a cleaner game I can win that match up no problem. Heck, even with my mistakes it came down to a Coin flip
I think he can run any theme, but you need a specific goal. I like him in Bones because:
1) Bones is great theme and naturally versatile. (Thanks CiD!)
2) it covers some of his weaknesses. Particularly being easy to assasinate, and his fury Hunger.
He can be built 3 ways IMO:
1) Heavy Control: Use pillars and your feat to control the BG. (Losing Power up is actually relevant into jack spam) and use Curse of shadows to Focus down a heavy or 2 a Turn.
2) Infantry Control: Crevasse is a thing and it’s beautiful when spammed. MA 6 from the wardens (7 from megs) and MA 9 from Moh with a fulcrum makes infantry dead. That was the main focus of my list. It’s a Cryx drop first and foremost but can clean house on heavier infantry. Also, Bones in general just naturally eats infantry.
3) Assasination: Play him in a theme that allows living units. Wait for the right turn, and bark assasinate a caster dead. You can feasibly do this in one turn with him: Sands, Bark, Curse of shadows, spray, and Sands away. Assuming you maltreat. It’s...actually pretty legit. Leaving the caster Def 5 And -2 Arm. Follow up with some Purebloods Assault sprays and a couple Woldwyrds or Misc army shooting and you have a very viable
Assasniation run against all but the toughest of nerds.
If you want to play him in Wild Hunt Howa bout this?
Moh:
-2 Purebloods
-2 Wyrds
-Argus
-Gorax
Max Reeves with UA
Min Wolves with UA
2 Gallows groves
2 War Wolves
Gobber Chef
You play the Cagey Shooting game trying to expose the caster, than you go for that assasination run. Ambushing Wolves can get there, also, Sic em can get war Wolves to really obscure places. I have not played it but mostly a brainstorm.
You can do similar (perhaps even better) lists in Devo Host or Secret masters.
I highly recommend him, he is a very fun caster and He will improve you as a player and open you up to more funky ways of thinking.
