I've played the list below twice now, and run the numbers on Crosse2 with a number of different targets.

His output is incredible, and in the games I've played so far he has done the following;

one rounded a light warjack (protectorate revenger statline)
taken huge chunks out of heavies (including polishing off a manticore that had half its shields gone)
killed Elara2, while she was on a hill, with two focus on her

Maybe I'm overselling him because of the positive results I've had thus far, but if Crosse were to fall short on an attack or damage roll he has the back-ups in the list from Eilish (Puppet Master) and maybe Reinholdt (Lucky Charm) to ensure it really doesn't matter.

With a little time passed since his release, I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen him used a lot more often, as not only is his personal output commendable, his army support is actually really good as well with spells like Dauntless Resolve, Ghost Walk and Fire Group.

Anyway. This is the list I've used with him so far, winning twice with it;

The only change I'm planning at the moment is to swap out Sylys with Reindholdt, but interested to hear other suggestions!

I have also been thinking about an Irregular's List with him, but have not had a chance to test yet. I'd love to hear what others think of him?

He hasn't been used much at the moment, I would assume, because Ashlynn is more consistent and possibly stronger. Or because Ossrum, Mag2, and Domiano give you super strong options that dwarf Crosse2.

Also, you can't drop Crosse into much of Cryx, no double turtles, no mass rfp, no chain lightning spam (looking at you Nemo 3) or Eilish/Upkeep removal. Some of these are very popular and are seen pretty regularly in the larger meta. All the opponent has to try and do is deny you souls or kill your lifebound targets in ways that don't generate souls. Or they can just remove your upkeeps.

Only way I've been able to take on Nemo3 with him is with double Storm Lances. That was a funny game. Anyway, he's a strong caster, but easily kneecapped.

Do you feel he works well in Llaelese Resistance?
I personally was thinking irregulars when I was goofing around in war room (although that might also be me having more models that work in that theme than in Llael) but I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the experience or knowledge.

I'm a protectorate player so I have a lot of protectorate units to hand, is one answer.

A follow up is that errants in this list act in a very similar way to the Vindictus list I've got a lot of experience with. They gain higher arm, enjoy a turn where they can't be shot at, hit hard, and in this list gain the intriguing mix of self sacrifice with shield guards that also provides souls for Crosse.

From the outside in, with no experience using the trenchers, I don't feel you can really live the Haley3 dream with this list, as you're relying on the reposition from Gibbs, who only grants it in a 7" bubble. That's a tight cloud wall in any game.

I haven't found it to be a huge problem, mainly because I only care about making about 5 of them repo out, but I can definitely agree that it's not the same.
