I do think that that confusion is part of why we're not seeing a ton of activity on the CID board. CID is driven by veteran players and with no fancy new mechanics and a pretty generic aesthetic it just doesn't seem like a large number of vets care about it. Don't get me wrong, it's probably a good thing that every mini-faction isn't going to have a ton of special rules, but for people who have been playing for years it makes it a hard argument against switching from a faction they already own and know. Personally I think they look way too much like Merc models, they don't seem to have that much identity IMO.

I can see from a financial perspective why they didn't want to make it a Merc subfaction, but from a gameplay perspective, it seems like a bad choice.
