LoS JadenLove that Koldgrannie list! You should try Madrack 2 with double long riders. I really think it can wreck the world unless you end up facing a gunline. I also really really want to see someone play it because my local troll player only owns one unit

In your Ossrum battle report you mention them killing a Bomber. I think you meant Brawler?

macdaddy - that does sound a ton of fun, I may have to do that. Storm of the North naturally for the sweet PS 16 charges? gdnerd - it's actually the Mauler, my bad. I don't take notes and I try and write up my games in less than 20 minutes for expediency in my schedule so occasionally I misstype.

It sucks to fail impact attacks but that rarely happens when they are boosted, and he can really dominate a flag. You can get the 8 points by swapping out the GK and Chef for warbeasts at 28 points or less. A Bouncer and Bomber could work if Madrak routinely uses most of his fury, or maybe the BG that Toby Nathan runs with the Madraks sometimes, for the animi as much as anything, which is Bouncer, Pyre, and Impaler.

I considered Horthol and beasts over the Glacier King, and I decided, personally, that I didn't like it as much. It's probably just fine, but I prefer the colossal to anchor the list over the 3 dice from impact attacks, especially since the Long Riders can so easily be MAT 9.

So really the only reason to play SotN is for the +1 speed and free upkeeps GIt depends on what you wanna do. Storm is for threat range and Cracking extreme arm. Band is more about removing infantry while still being able to crack arm!

Welcome to Trolls! I had fun reading your Grymkin reports and tacticas and I learned a lot, glad to see you switch to the good Kriels just like I did a month or so ago. My reason was actually two fully painted units of Long Riders I got RIGHT before I went fullretard on Grymkin, I liked their rules/models and wanted them on the tabletop. And behold! Here you are giving me hope when I have failed to get much done with them. (My lowest point was being terribad and using full unit to 'tarpit' min unit of Fenns, my opponents dice spiked and they just deleted the whole unit. That's when I learned they die just like other things... ) Also a tip: always declare Bull Rush with LRs instead of Press Forward, dem slams can do BIG PLAYS sometimes...

With that Madrak2 list it seems like you'd be better served by replacing a tuffalo unit with double bears, especially if you're going to stick with the Glacier King. Under Northkin Strength and Blood Fury they do an average of 60 boxes to Arm 19, 54 to Arm 20 and 48 to Arm 21 (assuming you can't also land the handler as it pretty much never happens). They also have 3 initials which seems VERY good with the feat.

Oh man >< that's rough when your Cav just die. Also yeah, don't use them to tarpit for Fenns XD
