So i picked up Barnabus Lord of Blood the other day and some other things from Gator Christmas and put together the following list
Barney2 Boneshakers Blackhide wrastler Boneswarm Bull Snapper (Free) Bull Snapper Soul Slave (Free) Kwakk and Gub Bone Shrine Wrong Eye and Snapjaw Spirit Cauldron Swamp Shamblers Max Posse Max Posse
I played against Amon and lots of Jacks and eventually picked up an assassination because barney is just a powerhouse
what got me thinking however is the bullsnappers in the list, they were mostly there to provide spiny growth and be transfer bots (and maybe do some work super late game due to rage and dark shroud but that is super long shot)
What I was thinking was to drop one of the snappers out and swap in a second spirit cauldron to provide a few more corpses to Barney/shamblers/boneswarm
what are the group thoughts about this sort of thing because I'm not sure how best to play barney2

hard to say honestly. having an extra transfer target can be useful, and without it you might be short on fury once you start losing beasts, but the extra corpses are nice early game, and then probably start to lose value once pieces start dying.

I prefer to play him in WWFF with Skarath, boneswarm, snapper and double Wrastler, and of course Wrongeye. Build a fort, watch your opponent try to take it apart, which they can’t most of the time. Haven’t tried him in Blindwater yet, I feel Maelok does that better so haven’t had the opportunity.

What are your reasons not to run Blindwater besides "Maelok does it better"? I mean, Rask also seems to be superior, therefore it's hard to find a spit for BLoB at all. Blindwater offers the dude spam route which might be a good idea. If Maelok is your anti dude spam list, you won't need BLoB here though. Do you think that there is a spot for BLoB in which he outshines all other Minion warlocks?

WWFF is better at that point because you have invested so many points into beasts that you would get more solos in it. You could for instance run him in blindwater, but you would probably want to use less beats and more Posse. This is what I'll be running in about a month. Might drop Nyss for double Valkyries. But we'll see.

Sounds like he is not getting any love in blind water then
If it helps my thoughts where to pair this with Carver in WWFF with a whole mess of beasts who go in and crack armour and this was meant to be a more infantry dealing list
sounds like for now I will keep the second snapper and do more testing

Sounds like he is not getting any love in blind water then You can see a couple of youtube batreps with him in blindwater. The newest one is from warroom pl, played by a guy who recently won a major tournament in germany.

I played a very similar list as you have above and after playing BloB for a few months I dont really see where he fits in a list pairing. I find his gimmick (def skew) only works on very specific match ups and those match ups are like auto win for him (-4 mat swing with star crossed is tough to overcome) or they just dont do much (against jacks, non-living things like cryx). He is slow and really doesnt do much for his battle group. He does tonnes of damage himself but I find it hard to walk that fine line of keeping him up front to effect the game and keeping him safe. That said I do like his kit and I think he is a really fun caster, model is fantastic, but I also find any list you want to do most of other casters do it better and/or are easier to play (Arkadius/Rask/Carver in WWFF or Maelok in Blindwater).
This is the list that has worked best for me so far (he really needs that Arc Node imho):
Theme: The Blindwater Congregation 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Barnabas, Lord of Blood - WB: +23 - Barnabas, Lord of Blood (Cont.) - Gatorman Soul Slave - PC: 0 - Blackhide Wrastler - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 16) - Blind Walker - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Boneswarm - PC: 7
Wrong Eye - Wrong Eye & Snapjaw: 17 - Snapjaw Gatorman Witch Doctor - PC: 0 Swamp Gobber Chef - PC: 1
Gatorman Bokor & Bog Trog Swamp Shamblers - Bokor & 9 Grunts: 10 Gatorman Posse (Blindwater) - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 Gatorman Posse (Blindwater) - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron - Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron: 5
THEME: The Blindwater Congregation

What are you using for feat targets? bone grinders? I find it hard not to have shamblers with him to ensure he has enough feat targets.

I've been meaning to try him in blindwater, but by the I add my beasts Wwff makes more sense. What are you using for feat targets? bone grinders? I find it hard not to have shamblers with him to ensure he has enough feat targets. Last list had bone grinders and Valkyries and swamp gobber to sac. Just enough to fill his fury up. For myself and my lists I maximize free solos with Wwff and overtake is pretty good on the beasts. I will be trying a double Shamblers blindwater list at some point.
