I've gotten about 10 games with the Colonel under my belt, my record isn't so hot, as I'm still learning him and the game overall. I've run lists w/Hitch and without Hitch. I find that his biggest asset is "Tenacity" letting them shoot w/out blocking each others line of site, is so nice. The time I didn't have Hitch in, I sorely missed him, and the Tactician Tenacity. I feel overwhelmed moving so many troops, and he alleviates this stress. I have been using him to Marshall a Grenadier, to some success. It is nice to have that extra Jack in there. It takes pressure off of Triumph. Seems that the Colonel is a myriad level caster, and there is so much to learn w/him that having Hitch in there lets me focus on learning Siege 2, and not on troops jamming up. What lists are you running? I run two full units, and haven't really had an issue with jamming myself up without Hitch. It's just my in experience moving that many troops. Too much thinking, not enough doing. Too much thinking on my turn, instead of my opponents turn. I do have a question for you...from left to right, AD line to Standard deployment line, how do you set your troops up? Just curious. I never really move my express teams, unless it's to get a bit closer. Commandos/infantry I usually run on first turn.

I have been known to feat on bottom of one and make attacks with my commandos...often.

Juris, your list looks like a blast to play and actually has me looking at Cygnar as a faction (no small feat).
What would you say this list DOESN'T want to see? It's got quite the toolkit with Siege2 at the helm. I'm looking for a partner for it and am intrigued by both the Sloan 5x5 and Kraye 4 Centurions in SotT.
Thanks!!

Certain things with mass infantry removal or denial such as Sorscha1, multiple covering fire templates, etc, can be difficult to bad for it. I like to pair it with it with a Heavy Metal list as a complement in those situations, which at the very list creates list chicken scenarios. Kraye and generally pretty Haley2 are effective in that slot. I am currently playing Haley2 in Heavy Metal with a Hurricane and a Strider in my pair.

Much appreciated as was the general writeup. I think either of those lists pairs fairly well then (and may make a nice 3 set all together).
Any further thoughts on Siege2 in GD would be appreciated but I think you've summed it up pretty nicely here.
I may be mixing up lists/events but did you play Chris Dancocks Bearka2 list at the ATC? If so, I think that was his only loss.

I did see his army at LVO; it's very well painted.

I've been running siege 2 with the blockhouse and really liking it, but my meta is pretty limited so I don't have a good realistic appraisal of that piece and am feeling a lot of doubt about it. Is there anything the blockhouse is bad into? I run it with a unit of trencher infantry and commandos.

Anything that can stand out of its threat range and still do work....or anything that can one round it starting it's activation from outside it's threat range. Imo it's biggest weakness is that it's entirely static and vs certain builds it's just too far back to even shoot stuff so at best it helps with recursion, and gives you trenches, which is sweet but hard to justify.

They changed the rule for structure deployment for the protectorate structure. If it sticks they said they would bump the blockhouse up to 8 inches as well.

From the few games I've played with a Blockhouse, people mostly just ignore it. I can't recall anyone ever actually trying to kill one. In the one game that I've played against a Blockhouse, I made a few attacks into it when I couldn't effectively attack anything else. It's a model that will get to do its work because its threat to vulnerability ratio is very neutral, and usually not worth investing the resources necessary to try to kill it.

I wonder with 2 additional inches of deployment could it start contesting more scenario objects making it more impact? That also brings your trenches 2 inches closer to where you want it for that sweet sweet caster defense.

14 points get you a lot of trenchers, they are much better than the blockhouse even with the 2 extra inches.

One thing I find the blockhouse does add is assassination potential with it's quack Cannon shot. Finn buffs it's rat, as do rangers and master gunners. I wouldn't run those just to support the thing, but thankfully Finn should be a near auto include in your list anyways.
