... I just don't like the pyre pretty much in any list. Borka 2 (and possibly Borka 1 in SotN) is probably the exception. And if you want a gargantuan in the BG and still want 60 points worth of infantry, but i agree that a pyre is by no means necessary just because you play double FEs. But hes not THAT bad though. 8 points is way more palletable than 9 for a boostable gun. Not good, but not cripplingly bad...

You guys are right, I did not give enough thought to the BG. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G589D0j04jq6Gj20U0li-iZiZezeziTbKTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North (Grissel 1) Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller [+29] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Troll Bouncer [9] - Winter Troll [8] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Farrow Bone Grinders (min) [5] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [5] I think we can get away with not running an Axer because Grissel has Boundless Charge and the Winter Troll has Pathfinder already. If you want the lights could easily be either an Axer or Slag and then either a Night or Basher, who take buffs well and can trade up. It's just that the Bouncer can help protect Grissel and all these key pieces as Longfellow reminded us, and the Winter can spray our own cold-immune grunts to unjam them or use the Elder to wallop boostable pow 14 sprays if the Elder doesn't need to do +2 STR. And this does free up points for the Bone Grinders, who can be very helpful for landing Calamity or throwing the occasional Rift.

I just finished painting Grissel1, so I wanted to play her and took out a variation on this list. This was both our first game with the particular lists in question, so quite a few mistakes were made, but we generally allowed them to be taken back and fixed. I nearly tabled Baldur2 in the rock theme, highlights included taking out a woldwarden and megalith under his feat. Hoof it on bears gave him a hard time, the two bears engaged Megalith and some other models from behind while the handler hid in a zone, so he had to choose between free strikes on a calamitied megalith or making me score on his turn. I'm going to have to consider swapping Lanyssa for a mist speaker, but I really enjoy telling people that I can make the bears threaten 19" from the edge, even if it horribly impractical to do so.
Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Glacier King - PC: 35 (Battlegroup Points Used: 29)
Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North - PC: 0 Fell Caller Hero - PC: 0 Lanyssa Ryssyl, Nyss Sorceress - PC: 4
Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Northkin Bear Handler & Battle Bears - Bear Handler & 2 Battle Bears: 10 Trollkin Champions - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 - Skaldi Bonehammer - PC: 5 - Trollkin Sorcerer - PC: 3 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 - Northkin Elder - PC: 3 Farrow Bone Grinders - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5

Don't forget Boundless on her for this! Boundless actually is feasible to cast on both eh bears, Meaning under the elder into a lighter target you can potentially threat upwards of 13" with them! Even with just gang they are P+S 17/16/16 and mat 8 which will the average arm 19 heavy.

I've got a couple more games in with her, and at the advice of a friend of mine I swapped out Lanyssa and the bone grinders for a bouncer. I was having a ton of order of activation and analysis problems with them in the list, and the bouncer takes almost no thought, so it is very handy for getting started on the list. In the long run I'm inclined to either swap back or swap the bouncer for Lanyssa and a Champ Hero, since the calamity-retaliatory strike synergy seems entertaining.
In the three games the minions were in, Lanyssa mostly camped a flag and had more effect with the occasional ice bolt than with hunters mark, and the bone grinders invariably got trapped behind other models and weren't able to make melee attacks and I never really needed the range bonus they gave. I suspect that all this had to do with the fact that my opponents have been playing new lists and aren't familiar with her, which is why I intend to keep playing her with the bouncer and track when the minions would have been handy.

I gave grissel some thought in Boh: War Room Army
Trollblood - grissel 1
Theme: Band of Heroes 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Grissel Bloodsong, Fell Caller - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Dire Troll Mauler - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 15) - Earthborn Dire Troll - PC: 14 (Battlegroup Points Used: 14) - Troll Bouncer - PC: 9
Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3 Trollkin Champions - Leader & 4 Grunts: 16 - Skaldi Bonehammer - PC: 0 - Trollkin Sorcerer - PC: 3 Trollkin Long Riders - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20 Trollkin Fennblades - Leader & 9 Grunts: 15 - Trollkin Fennblade Officer & Drummer - Officer & Drummer: 0
THEME: Band of Heroes ---
GENERATED : 08/24/2018 13:42:25 BUILD ID : 2067.18-06-10
Alternative: melt the bouncer and add Bone Grinders and 4pt solo. One could also try to get Warders in, but it's Hard to play around the Champs and Füll Toughalos Profit much more from hoof it. I need to play her more, it kind of feels superior to just run Madrak atm. Did anyone gotten more experience with her?

I played her a couple more games, but moved on to a champions pair, even though I am unaware of a champions event that I can get to. That pretty much decided into, "can I get Grissel2 to not win while still playing reasonably well?" Seven games in, the answer was no. None of those games were as fun as the Grissel1 list, though.
