Replace "strongest" with "versatile" and you might be right. Might. On the sculpt: I'm torn. Not enough "Ghost", too much "Ship" for my taste. I like the comparison to the Mortis Engine or heck: The artwork on the card! Would have been way better with the "riding on a wave of Ghosts" design. Instead of "some ghosts prop up our ship" I agree, needs more ghosts, like the ship should be riding a cresting wave made out of ghosts, with spooky faces and arms lunging forward
the ghosts do seem kinda just stuck underneath, and there are so few, won't they get tired?

Looks like a wave to me, and I personally find the model gorgeous. I guess my bar isn't set as high as everyone elses.

To me, Skarre is more "pirate queen" less "queen of the damned", so all of the undead ghostly soul stuff is too much and she's missing 50% of a boat and 100% of a reason to drive a boat on land. I'm gonna make my own (won't be tournament legal but oh well) and it's gonna be a steampunk airship. At least then the "flying" rule makes a bit more sense and I can add the front of the boat back.

To me, Skarre is more "pirate queen" less "queen of the damned", so all of the undead ghostly soul stuff is too much and she's missing 50% of a boat and 100% of a reason to drive a boat on land. I'm gonna make my own (won't be tournament legal but oh well) and it's gonna be a steampunk airship. At least then the "flying" rule makes a bit more sense and I can add the front of the boat back. LOL attach a toy boat on top of a WE or Denny's 3 dragon and glue skarre 2 on top of it... half the price (or 2/3), double the ship, tournament legal and with some work probably better looking... And yeah, I wouldnt call her the strongest caster in the game, just maybe the most versatile (as already was pointed out), but seems a fun caster to play, shooting cannonballs all over the place

I feel like Skarre 3 is strongest in Dark Host, as she can give them much-needed threat extension and stack Deflection with the Wraith Engine's aura to deliver them even more effectively.
But I really want to run her in Black Industries in a combined arms list. Has anyone tried Drudges with her? I proxied one game with this list:
Skarre 3 -Leviathan -Leviathan -Leviathan -Nightwretch (free)
Necrotech
Max Drudges Max Drudges Max Drudges Overlords Overlords
It did well against Manowars, but they're kind of the perfect matchup for Drudges--low DEF, high ARM, low volume of attacks.
Drudges with Deflection reach ARM 17, which is nice against POW 10s but still doesn't quite get high enough to resist POW 12s.

The drudges have combined melee attack and he does have 30 of them. Really, they will mostly be body blocking and charging low DEF targets. Skarre's cannon balls under her ranged accuracy spells will be murdering most high defense infantry or light beasts/warjacks. Between prep for surgery and her reinforcements ability, it looks like they will have a good recursion going too.

Good point, hadn't considered Drudges with her. I probably wouldn't go fully drudge focussed, but could probably afford to play 1 heavy down for an extra unit anyway.
I also like the look of ironmongers shoe-horned into a black industries list. A solid unit for repairs (on Skarre3 if not the jacks) and no slouch in melee / durability. If nothing else, they can sit in a zone and score.

I really love the model, but I definitely get everyone’s critiques. I think the model could be more ghostly. For me, I plan to pull that off through the paint job and I’m thinking of adding some souls from Malice and the metal soul markers to achieve a better effect.
My only issue is the crew, they’re great models but I do feel like they are kind of just hanging out there on the front of the ship. I wish they were more active.

I plan to use a lot of moss to make the half-ship look appropriately wrecked, which should remove the cutaway look problem. From there on some lighting effects should do for the ghostly undercarriage.

As a fluff explanation for model design, the Satyxis command Orgoth Black Ships, not Ghost Fleet vessels. While the Orgoth did use soul capture magical techniques, I'm guessing aesthetically the spiritual energy elements would have less representation on their vessels than if this had been a Rengrave2 sculpt.
Would be a good question for a Seacat signal, if he monitored this forum.

Thanks. Yeah, she looks like a ball-buster. Possibly the strongest caster in the faction at first glance - can run every theme well by the looks of it. -und_ed It looks like she got some buffs as well. Cannons are now Pow 14 (they were pow 13 before right?) Her bash attack now benefits from the Strength buff. Overall she seems kind of gross. But I guess time will tell. 26 boxes seems like a change though? wasn't she 28 at the end of the CID

They also have a low threat even with Dash, at 9.5". The other problem is probably sprays at POW 12, which are fairly common.
