I'm just looking to get into minions and am wondering how people fare into Nemo3? We have a local player who tears it up with a very strong Nemo3 list (he recently won champions at the LVO, albeit without Nemo3 of course). The list is basically Dynamo, 5x firefly and 2x storm striders. The list puts out so much damage at range to a ton of different targets regardless of defense or arm (more or less).
Anyways, he's of course a very strong player so I don't expect to be beating him anytime soon, but would be nice to have a list that can give him a game. Any ideas?

In Gators you have a few options but no easy answers. Rask's feat helps. Maelok might have enough high-ARM gator meat to make it through with enough left. Ambushers of all types can help considerably. If I was custom building against him I'd probably try Rask with 2 set of Bog Trog Ambushers and a hefty amount of high-ARM boxes after that.

Play Arkadius in WWFF. Your melee threat ranges are longer than Dynamo's walk and shoot and equivalent to the Storm Striders'. Basically makes it a game decided by whoever wins the first turn, since you can position so far forwards that your opponent flat out can't leave his deployment zone without giving you an alpha, which isn't great but it is technically a 50/50 fair game.
If you do fail to accomplish the goal of winning that starting roll though, Nemo isn't too hard to assassinate so long as you have something left.

How do you kill storm striders or Dynamo with the horrible spell on it Azahul? Hit them with 2 attacks and hope they die? That push is nasty.

My go to would be Incorporeal models, but I don't have any in Arkadius. So usually I just position my models correctly. Have a Razor Boar sit somewhere where a Road Hog can charge in with the slightest angle to ensure a push directly away would scrape against the Razor Boar. It usually costs you a bit of threat range, but if you won first turn then you're squatting on all the scenario pieces and your opponent can't get anywhere near them without being inside the threat range of your slowest pieces by 5" or more.

If you know your opponent is bringing Dynamo along, get some shield guards in your list. Shield guard lets you shut down Dynamo's Multi Fire special attack if you position right. Shield guard is 3" range but multi fire is only 2", so if your shield guard soaks the first attack while staying more than 2" away and there are no other legal targets in range you'll ruin Dynamo's party. It won't win you the game by itself but it's a small piece of fun tech.

Good to see ya! And Valkyries are pretty good at that Shield guarding thing
