Was watching a live stream of someone painting models, they didn't seem to have sprayed their models with primer, does the PP paint work decently without primer? any other paints people have tried this with? is it only on full plastic/resin models or does the metal bits like the paint too?

Are you sure they didn't use a grey primer that resembled the colour of the unprimed model? The only models I've seen that work decently without primer are the Reaper Bones, and they are made out of some weird material specifically designed to work without primer

Primer just helps. Paint will still stick to a model without it.

My first PP model, a metal Manowar Shocktrooper, back in ' 04, was painted without primer. Although he still looks painted after years of light use, I've primed everything since and they hold up better. I also love what black primer does to a finished look... the recesses are auto-shaded and the whole model pops more imo. I guess I'm just supporting the idea that primer serves multiple purposes.
