Greetings All.
I am starting this thread to document and chat: about a journy through Cryx. This is as much an conventional guide into Cryx as it is a documentation on experiences. I know there is a "new players guide", but the thought here is to look at the faction with unconventional means.
So with that said my first look into Cryx was Skare 1 in a mixed arms theme (infernal machine) and she is the one caster who drew me to the faction.
Lately ive been taking part throwing ideas to Gammingdevil about a Haley 3/Nemo 3 list combo. And it began my research further into Cryx. At first i thought of Denegra 1 to keep the forces crippled and debuffed to allow the attrition, but that would be a weaking match up vs the two.
Then I thought Mortenebra 2 using Black Industries and Shrike warjacks as a way to clear the trenchers in swathes. Trampling gets around the cloud wall dilemma. The warjacks can trample over any sized base and with locomotion cast through an arc node they have a 13 inch trample line.
But really i got off topic. So my first list is looking into a Denegra 1 gunline to pair with my Skare 1 list. So lets start there and come up with ideas.

I have no experience against Haley 3 or Nemo 3, but if cloud walled trenchers are the issue, perhaps ghost fleet with all the ghost shot rifles and cannon may be a good match? Haley 3 strikes me as the type that will have a lot of magic attacks though, and I don't know if she has any remove from play tech. The DEF buffs from temporal distortion are probably still an issue. As would be repudiate to get rid of deneghra's upkeeps and do minor damage to her. The ghost pirates and rengrave both do remove from play when they kill and make new grunts so that shuts down revive. Granted with all the anti-infantry tech that cygnar can bring to the table, I am not sure its a great idea. But it gets around the clouds and a lot of haleys spells.

I think Ghost Fleet is still a good bet as a Denny 1 gun line. Make sure to include the Cannon Crew, it's about the only thing in the list that will be able to hurt the clones. I've played it before the changes and while I was probably too conservative, it's still a hard matchup. You can't rely on Incorporeal to save you, because of the clones easily killing anything and there's chain blast with boosted damage, which makes all your light infantry really sad. The rifles can see through clouds, but without landing Crippling Grasp, still struggle to hit anything and even a full CRA while aiming during feat turn will still need a 7 to hit and 11 to kill a clone if it's camping focus. It should at least have some fighting chance though.
