Alright alright alright, I'm doing the thing. So, I was incredibly tired going into this final. It's been a long time since I've done a 2 day event and I'd just played two incredibly taxing games. Haley3 and Harbinger don't play slow, and in general playing Krueger2 a lot is a big drain on my dumb brain. In the finals I was playing vs Konrad, who I had actually played vs in a practice game on Friday night. I dropped Krueger into Xerxis2 with a bunch of drakes and 2 turtles to see how bad it was. It was really bad. I think I played decently in that pracatice game but the threat ranges / lack of Wind Storm vs sprays was just way too much. His other list was Morghoul2 DoA. The scenario was Spread the Net, which made me -REALLY- want to drop Krueger. But my circle partner in crime musza assured me over Facebook Baldur could handle it and that he was the better drop. Much to my chagrin, Konrad dropped Morghoul2. His Morghoul2 list had 2 units of Croak Raiders and 9 Farrow Valkyries. Wind Storm would have just printed money, but Konrad told me with the terrain and with the scenario he was not comfortable dropping Xerxis. I can't remember who won the roll but I got first. I ran my stuff up and threw out a bunch of Roots. Nothing too fancy. I will mention I was really, really tired and took way longer than normal for so simple a turn. Konrad put Shadow Play up on a Blind Walker I believe and otherwise everything fired forwards. Tough went up on both Croaks and everything spread out to abuse Shield Guard / Sac Pawn / Not get rekt by Woldwrath AoEs. He positioned really well, I remember thinking that. I forgot to take a photo though. In my turn my stuff shimmied up defensively. I put up Roots in all the relevant places, dropped a Rock Wall in front of my Wrath to deny a Blind Walker a charge and otherwise shimmied. The Wrath killed a Croak with its gun and I think the Mannikins killed a couple more. Sorry the photo is sideways, I can't seem to get it fixed on Facebook and I don't currently have access to my laptop so you're gonna have to deal with it. It's also worth saying that despite doing essentially nothing but cast Roots and move for 2 turns I'd managed to use I think 19 minutes? I was incredibly tired and playing quite sloppily too. In Konrad's turn he did something I didn't see coming. He ran his Krea into my zone in front of my Woldwrath. He moved to put stuff into relevant scenario spaces. Mortality went on my Guardian and the Shadow Play Blind Walker charged it through the building. Croaks shot a bunch of stuff too. My Guardian lived, I think I took a couple boxes on some stones. The Bloodrunners ambushed on and ran in from the left flank. Konrad forgot to put a beast or Morghoul in his own zone and as a result only scored 1. Well, as soon as he did that I knew what kind of game this was. Sadly, I was still pretty exhausted and playing very poorly. I'm not at all proud of how I played this game. This is the turn I remember least well so I'm sorry if I get some things a bit fuzzy. I think I gave strength to the Warden and had him ported up to the Blind Walker that had messed with my Guardian. My Wrath obliterated the Krea. The Blind Walker died to the Warden. My stuff moved around to contest the left flag in future turns. I moved my Grove up on the right to deny tough and get a bunch of Crevasses out. Megalith trampled over for Crevasse action. I think I crevassed the Task Master off the right flag but was only able to get a Mannikin near it. I killed quite a lot of infantry this turn and Baldur feated and Crevassed more stuff but I think he maybe missed. He dropped a Rock Wall in front of the Wrath again to deny charges. As an example of how tired I was and badly I was playing. I had Baldur activate, Crevasse, and then I activated 2 other models before realising what I had done, and had to ask if I could feat and drop a Rock Wall. Konrad graciously allowed it, otherwise that would probably have been lights out right there. I believe I scored 1 and the score went to 1-1. With the Rock Wall protecting my Wrath from the Blind Walker, the Battle Boar just ran in front of it, to deny it moving up the table for another turn. I think Morghoul put Mortality on the left hand Stones and then forgot to finish his activation. Considering what had happened in the previous turn I of course let him finish. It'd been a god damn long weekend. The Blind Walker shimmied left. The Croaks and Valks on the left cleared away my Stones and Mannikins and the Task Master ran onto the flag. The Bloodrunners killed some Mannikins and I think failed to dent my Sentry Stone. With no solos on the right models moved to get into my zone and contest. A Farrow Valk got to just straight up charge my Sentry Stone on the right (sloppy, tired, etc) and with her sister who ran to give her gang she took it down. I forgot a photo, but at the end of the Turn Morghoul scored 2, taking it to 3-1. Well, the left flag was now a huge issue. My Warden over there shimmied left and put Roots on himself. My Mannikins got to work on the left clearing up remaining infantry but I wasn't able to get the Taskmaster (sacpawn is a good rule). The Wrath killed the Battle Boar and put up its Animus which my 3 Shapers and Megalith used to help clear the zone on the right. For some reason I didn't put a Mannikin in Konrad's zone or a Shifting Stone. At the start of my turn I had planned on putting my Warden in the opposing zone but decided that was a good way to give away a free heavy so didn't, but that's why Baldur is where he is. I believe I scored my own zone, taking it to 4-2 because I didn't contest Konrad's zone. At this point I decided that I wasn't going to lose this game rolling down and was going to stop playing so badly. No more photos from here out I'm sorry, and as a result my ability to narrate the game has gone way down hill as by the end of this game I was totally out of it. I will give you some highlights though. I managed to clear off almost every model on the right flank and get a Stoneshaper onto Konrad's flag, mostly neutralising the scenario lead. Using Shadow Play Konrad's 2nd Blind Walker charged my mangled Guardian and killed it, but his infantry on the left were basically unable to handle the Warden just casting Roots on itself every turn and smacking 1-2 models dead a turn. I managed to nearly equalise Scenario, with Konrad being up 1-2 points. In my last turn all I had to do was run Baldur 10" from the Blind Walker, kill 2 Valkyries with a Wrath & Megalith, port a stone into Konrad's zone and pass to nearly automatically win the game. I had around 50 seconds or something. I had Baldur try and kill the Blind Walker for some reason, which he did, and then had my Sentry do stuff and clocked. Konrad won with me clocking and the Scenario being 7-6. In my last turn had I done the things I said I would have gone to 8-7 in my favour, with Konrad being unable to contest my zone or flag, and only be able to score his own zone taking it to 10-8 in my favour. Sadly, I'm shit. Unfortunately, a loss for the Circle. And a very well played game by Konrad! He had a tough matchup and played it out in what I think was his only realistic line to win. Making me kill his whole army in time and also not lose to jamming. I had a lot of tough steady models to go through. I want a rematch at some point, as I'm very confident that if I didn't randomly take 30 minutes in my first 3 turns doing not very much, I would have this game in the bag. Still, Konrad absolutely played better on the day and deserved the win.

Since then I've played a bunch more real life practice games. I played a game vs Morghoul2 with Wurmwood where I won the game, crushingly on attrition and then got myself killed because I forgot Shadow Play existed and a Wrastler walked up to the tree and ate him on his feat turn. I played a sweet game vs Haley3 where I scored 5 CPs on Standoff on the bottom of 2. Which involved Krueger having to get into the enemy zone and clear it himself. I played a game with Bradigus & 8 Watchers (what's mk3?) vs the Heretic in Dark Menagerie where I managed to kill all the Gremlins and pressure scenario until I won, despite attrition being a slow, even grind. I played the same list vs a High Reclaimer list teched for Haley3 & Grymkin and we called it on the top of 3 because that many RFP models is just too much for him. I played a game vs Carver in WWFF with my Krueger2 list, despite losing first I managed to score 4 CPs on Outflank on the bottom of 2, and from there use TK and Gallows (and Megalith's fists) to score the remaining CPs for the win. I played a game with Brad using 2 heavies vs the Dreamer in Dark Menagerie, and I managed to do the same, eeking out scenario while attrition remained mostly even. And finally, my most recent game was vs Axis in Destruction Initiative where I dropped Krueger2. I managed to dance around his threat ranges and use terrain and my feat to deny engagement, only taking real damage from TEPs, until eventually I managed to get a Hunter's Mark & TK onto a TEP to charge and kill it with a Warden, opening the floodgates for scenario and sealing the game for me. Sadly, I'm also a moron and left Krueger within 15" of the OTHER TEP (for the first time that game he could attack Krueger) and thankfully I lived through the assassination attempt, of a TEP and Axis casting spells at me. I was camping 2, not sure how likely it was but I sure felt stupid. And that's what I've been up to! I'm playing some games tomorrow and taking my tablet this time. I'm focusing on Bradigus, I really want to practice him because he has a huge skill ceiling and I don't want to be like that musza idiot and clock myself in an important game. *cough* This is the list: Circle Orboros - Brad 7 Theme: The Bones of Orboros 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Bradigus Thorle the Runecarver - WB: +27 - Wold Guardian - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 16) - Wold Guardian - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 11) - Woldwarden - PC: 14 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 THEME: The Bones of Orboros --- GENERATED : 05/03/2018 13:42:10 BUILD ID : 2061.18-02-21 Going 3 heavies cause it can hopefully still pull its weight vs Cryx if they outfox me and drop not-slayers but should be much stronger vs Grymkin, Skorne and Ossrum. Cheers folks!

Thanks for the battle reports! Bummer about the final tournament game, but still really well played all around! I remember back when I played Warhammer fantasy in 2 day tournaments all the time. I had a period of time where I always made it to the final table on day 2, but would lose in the final due to being so damn tired. I would literally think back on my games and be like "I just threw all my knowledge of the game out the window, and played like an idiot!". It is amazing how much endurance plays into these types of events.
I got my first game in on vassal this last week. Very unique and fun experience, albeit a time consuming one. Seems like vassal has the potential to take forever until you get the hang of the interface. I am excited to give it another try soon.
Thanks again for the battle reports and I look forward to reading more in the future!

Yeah, thanks for the reports! I especially like the rapid fire ones - so much condensed into so few words. I wouldn't mind writing batreps of my games, but I am way too wordy (and time spent writing is time spent not painting...).

Can vassal games be played on a tablet, or does it really need to be on a computer (mouse accuracy etc)? I’d love to get more games that way, but can’t afford to invest in a computer to do it .... that’d be more toys instead.

Yeah, thanks for the reports! I especially like the rapid fire ones - so much condensed into so few words. I wouldn't mind writing batreps of my games, but I am way too wordy (and time spent writing is time spent not painting...). Well, I could try that format in future. Other readers, any comments on the rapid fire idea? Or do you prefer the more detailed in depth reports? Can vassal games be played on a tablet, or does it really need to be on a computer (mouse accuracy etc)? I’d love to get more games that way, but can’t afford to invest in a computer to do it .... that’d be more toys instead. Unfortunately unless your tablet can run Windows and Java I don't think it can be played on a tablet. Certainly my android and iOS devices can't. But if you have a windows tablet then maybe you could, you would definitely need a keyboard. Mouse not so much I would think.

Alright I lied. I actually ended up playing 3 games of Kromac2 due to absence of Grymkin, Skorne, Mercs or Slayers for me to test Brad into! I played this list: Also, here's my guide to a rousing game of Proxymachine! Kromac2 (represented by Kromac1 on a large base) -Ghetorix -Warpwolf Stalker -Warpwolf Stalker (a Stormclad) -Pureblood Warpwolf (a Wold Guardian) -Wild Argus (a Gorax) Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron (a Spawning Vessel on a large base, followed by a Gatorman Witch Dictor) Shifting Stones Lord of the Feast (Aiakos) Una -Scarsfell Griffon Blackclad Wayfarer Gremlin Swarm (a Feralgeist on a medium base) 75 My first game was vs our local new blood playing Nemo1. He also had some proxies, like his Stormclad was a storm tower, Haley2 was a Stormblade UA. Look just go with it... I won the roll for first with the theme and we were off! In my turn one Kromac dropped 5 Fury and ran 12" because his spells suck. Una cast Guardian Beast and charged up. Everything else ran, except the pot which handed 3 corpses to LotF after seasoning some sauce. My opponent moved all his models up. The right hand Stormblades got Arcane Shield. Otherwise stuff moved defensively away from my threat ranges. I forgot a photo here. I just shimmied defensively, put up defensive animi, Vengeful on Gheto and hid in terrain. Kromac got some corpses. In my opponent's turn Dynamo and Thunderhead both got 4 Focus. Dynamo advanced towards Ghetorix and shot him, dealing 1 damage with the first shot. I used Hyper Aggressive to walk into cover, but stay outside of walk & pulse range of Thunderhead. Ghetorix lived through Dynamo and Thunderhead on a decentish number of boxes. A couple Stormblades assauled him, some Stormcallers shot him too, when the dust cleared though he was on I think 7 boxes. Otherwise stuff shimmied. Forgot a photo again, but no points were scored. Ghetorix, having Hyper Agressived up was now in walk range of Dynamo. My pot walked up and gave Puppet Master to the LotF. Kromac charged out, feated, killed I think 4 Stormblades, healed Ghetorix and sprinted back into the stone triangle. My Stalker on the left warped Berserk, killed some Stormblades and sprinted back and to the right. Now the Stalker on the left had gone the Stones ported Kromac into the rubble. Ghetorix advanced, killed Dynamo, overtook and put about half of Thunderhead's boxes in but took no systems. He also cast Spiny Growth. Una got Wraithbane from the Pureblood and killed some Stormblades. My flappy bird missed 4 attacks on the Firefly it charged even with Carnage. My Stormclad-Stalker ran to the far right of the right hand zone to stay safe. Sprint is important. LotF killed a Stormtower and Grunt and a Stormsmith. My Gremlin swarm ran to the far left of the left zone (out of frame here). I scored 2. Thunderhead advanced and boosted to hit Ghetorix. He missed. He boosted his 2nd fist and dealt good damage but didn't kill him, taking 1 damage from Spiny Growth. The attack took out Ghetorix's body (leaving him on 3 boxes I think) but his Vengeful attack still did 8 damage to Ghetorix. THead was nearly dead now. Thankfully his next attack killed Gheto. Then a bunch of stuff got between Kromac and Ghetorix. My left Stalker took some damage from Stormblades. LotF took 4 damage. My Wayfarer walked up and whiffed spectacularly with his spray. Una, the pot and my Pureblood used their guns / spells to kill all the models between Thunderhead and Kromac except the Firefly. Kromac charged the Thunderhead, killed it, cast Carnage killed the Firefly and Sprinted. My Stalker on the right killed the other Firefly. My bird killed I think a Stormblade or two. My LotF killed a Stormsmith and the Journeyman. I scored 1 more, taking it to 3-0. Nemo walked up, threw some spells at Kromac, and then my dog got ported onto Nemo, barked and Kromac ate him. Victory to the Circle!

I won the roll to not have to move tables, won first again and my opponent also took the side with the wall. Same table, same side. Sick. This time playing vs the Harbinger player from the semifinals of AFD. An all living list with like 8 work models vs Harbinger. What could possibly go wrong? We both ran up on turn one. The LotF got 3 corpses. On my turn 2 my Stones ported Kromac into 2 Idrians. He barked, killed them both and Sprinted back around the building. Otherwise my stuff shimmied defensively. Kromac also got I think 1 Corpse from the pot, he was on 3 by the end of it. In Harbinger's turn Crusader's Call came out as well as Guided Hand on the Idrians. The Idrians charged the Pureblood, one of them dying to Guardian Beast, and 2 charged my bird with 3 connecting to the Pureblood. The poor Pureblood was their prey and reduced to I think 7 boxes. One hit the Griffon and took him to 11 boxes remaining. A paladin on the left charged a Stalker and really cranked damage, leaving it beaten up. The book did no spells. Harby scored 1 for the left zone, taking it to 1-0 to Protectorate. Alright well I had a chance at the Covenant here and I think my best out to this game was killing it. Kromac activated, charged out of the Covenant's range, getting 4 Idrians in melee and feated. He killed all the Idrians, donating I think 2 Corpses to the Pot and then Sprinted back over to the left. Lord of the Feast got Puppet Master, threw his Raven at the horse-paladin and appeared in the back arc of the book. He put 4 boxes into it. My left hand Stalker killed the Paladin of the Order of the Wall with Carnage but couldn't Sprint. My Gremlin ran into the left zone hiding behind the cloud. My other Stalker charged the Covenant, and I think made Harbinger Martyr 4 times. He had warped Berserk and mulched a Dwarf to get a bonus attack on the book, but sadly it still lived. Ghetorix got ported by my Stones and made Harby martyr some more to keep the Champion of the Order of the Wall alive after he dismounted him. My guns and sprays and things cleared the left zone. The Pureblood walked right and healed a bit. I scored one for the right zone, taking it to 1-1. In Harbinger's turn the Hammer Dwarfs got Guided Hand. They charged some Warpwolves and managed to KD Ghetorix. Ghetorix got mulched by charging Weapon Masters. The left hand Stalker lived on I think 6 boxes with the other one being on 26 due to some naff dice from the Sanctifier. The Covenant walked away from my Stalker and put up no spells. LotF got massacred and Harbinger feated after healing for lots. Score remained 1-1. My Stalker in the middle frenzied, and killed a Dwarf. I had a pipe dream this turn, you'll notice the lovely semicircle of PoM models around where Gheto used to be. I had a dream that my army could force enough damage through Martyrdom to let Kromac get in there and just remove like 30 points or so of models in one activation, then just tank Harbinger by camping 5-6 or so. So, I had to kill one Paladin in Stone stance and one not in Stone stance for Kromac to get in there. I had a Pureblood, Argus, Griffon, Una and my Pot. How hard could it be, right? After all that stuff I managed to kill I think a dwarf and the 1 box Champion, but both Paladins remained standing. Kromac walked up and ate them both. His Stones ported around him to deny charge lanes. My left hand Stalker regened his body, warped Berserk, killed 2 Dwarfs and the enemy objective but couldn't sprint. I scored 2 here, taking it to 3-1. My opponent here had Guided Hand put on the Idrians and Dwarfs. Harby healed for a bit more. The Dwarfs knocked down one Stalker and the Dwarfs / Sanctifier killed them both. Vilmon's dice exploded and he oneshot a stone with vengeance then did 20 damage to my Argus. A bunch of random models ended up in my zone, I think the Idrians charged my Pureblood and killed it, my bird and my Wayfarer. I forgot a photo here, but the score remained 3-1 Circle. In my turn, Una aimed and murdered 3 Idrians. Kromac killed the other models in the zone and just chilled in the wind, with no beasts left. My pot got in the zone, my stone leader stayed in the zone with his friend running away ready to contest. My Gremlin ran away from the Sanctifier. I scored 1 more and went to 4-1 Circle. In my opponent's turn the Sanctifier got Guided Hand. It trampled and killed my Gremlin. The Monk charged my pot, what looks like a now suspiciously long 10" but it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game. It rolled bananas and oneshot it, rolling a 21 on 4 dice. It sidestepped and killed my other Shifting Stone. The Devout and Dwarfs moved up. A Kicky Monk got into my zone and Shifting Sands stanced. Harby scored 2 and the score went to 4-3 Circle. In my turn Una cut, aimed and killed the punch monk. Kromac walked up to the other one and failed to kill it, it dodged far away. My other shifting stone moved to contest my zone and the middle zone. Harby scored 1 and the score went to 4-4. At this point I basically lost automatically, but the Dwarfs killed Una with Guided Hand, the Devout killed my Stone and Harby went to 6-4. Then Kromac killed the Devout and 2 Dwarfs, and Harbinger went to 8-4. In her turn she won automatically. Sadly a loss for the Circle. >: I think I made some mistakes here. I should have thought about what had to happen for me to kill the book some more and not gone for that. I think I could have had a solid attrition turn if I didn't go for that and achieved a lot more had I just killed her models. Also in the turn I was greedy to kill 2 Paladins I should have just had Kromac kill them and then the rest of my army could have pushed forwards/played safer for attrition, for example I think I could have saved the Pureblood. Still, playing this many living warbeasts that rely on Berserk/Sprint/Spells vs Harbinger is miserable. I just didn't really want to drop Bradigus and didn't have Krueger stuff available.

My 3rd game of the day was vs Siege sons of the tempest. I again won the roll to not have to change table and again won first. +1 is sweet! We both ran up. So I was sitting thinking how in the hell do I get my pieces not blown off the table. Kromac can handle some guns but with the knockdown to mitigate Hyper Aggressive and all the pushes I wasn't confident I could ever really get there here. So I did something kind of silly. My Pureblood got Puppet Master and sprayed down 2 Blazers. My bird walked to within 8 of a 3rd and Kromac primal shocked it to death. Kromac walked up to the building and feated, cast Spiny Growth and I think dropped some Fury. My right hand Stalker charged a gun mage, killed it and Sprinted to engage a charger. My left hand Stalker did the same. Ghetorix advanced and cast Spiny Growth. My dog and una walked and shimmied defensively. My Wayfarer walked and Phase Jumped to engage the Black 13th. Plan jam: engage. In Siege's turn Triumph shot Ghetorix in the maintenance phase, and he Hyper Aggressive'd up. Too close cause I'm lazy. Siege walked up, feated and Force Hammered my Stalkers into each other. Woops. Triumph walked up and smacked Ghetorix a bit. Some gun mage solos walked into melee with him but mostly bounced off, leaving him on 16. The Black 13th couldn't get clear of the Wayfarer so they shot him down. The Chargers and Pistoleers / Solos on the left murdered both my Stalkers. Thankfully, I had Ghetorix alive missing body. He was kind of engaged by a lot, but my opponent put Squire and a Gobber Tinker in between him and Siege too. I tried to take a photo of this turn but this happened. No clue how. In my turn LotF with his 3 Corpses and Puppet Master from the pot walked up and managed to do some fancy initial and raven shenanigans to clear out squire and put some damage into Triumph. Kromac walked up, and also with his 3 Corpses killed Triumph, the Tinker, put up Carnage, healed Ghetorix and sprinted. Ghetorix advanced up to Siege and cut him in half. Victory to the Circle! This was a pretty hilarious game. I just kind of all inned on the top of 2 and it paid off. Probably wrong but also it had been a long day and that matchup felt unfun so I decided to have a laugh with it.

Thanks a lot for the reports, i really enjoyed reading them and now I want to play Circle again Maybe I will dust them off for the tournament on the weekend. Do you think your pairing (Krueger2 and Bradigus 3 Heavys) can play into Skarre1 (she is really common around here and I always struggle against her).

Hey guys, hope you like slayers. Got a game in vs Lich3 playing Slayers yesterday, and played the list I wanted to try vs them in the first place. Bradigus Thorle the Runecarver - WB: +27 - Wold Guardian - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 16) - Wold Guardian - PC: 16 (Battlegroup Points Used: 11) - Woldwarden - PC: 14 (represented by a Warpwolf Stalker) - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 - Woldwatcher - PC: 8 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0 Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 (represented by a Gallows Grove & 3 Mechanithralls) Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5 (represented by a Gallows Grove & 3 Cephalyx Drudges) Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 I played this list. The Scenario was Spread the Net, which was definitely going to punish my lack of Wayfarers. My opponent also won the roll for first. We deployed, and he came at me. You'll notice I set up my Stones so I could in theory feat my heavies into them bottom of 1, because those slayers can run FAR. Asphyxious cast Mobility and everything came screaming at me, but respected my turn 1 feat threat. Well. There was a lot I was afraid of here. I was scared of the nodes running up and Hellfiring / Hex Blasting my solos to death. I was also afraid of them doing the same to my Sentry Stones. In particular though the Solos are very important as +2 strength is obviously valuable in such a skewy matchup. I mostly shimmied around, put my heavies up and my Watchers also, being sure to only be in threat of the first wave of Slayers. My Stones mostly moved backwards. I had both Sentries in position to contest far scenario elements, but ran 2/3 Mannikins from both units out of formation just to gum up charges. On the left flank, one Slayer got 3 focus. Lich walked up, cast Mobility, used his feat and chilled behind some trees. My screening Mannikins were cleared out by Vociferon and an Arc Node I believe. The Slayer on the left charged my Watcher on the far left, leaving it on a handful of boxes with a boosted combo and boosted bought attack. The 2nd Slayer polished it off. On the right a Slayer walked into my zone and ate my Mannikins. Another ran into my zone behind a forest, which was SUPER annoying and in hindsight, I definitely chose the wrong table side. Otherwise Slayers shimmied mostly defensively, solos chilled behind the far flag. Alright well, time to go I guess. With 3 Slayers in my face I wasn't really keen on waiting out the feat, and I felt like if I did I would just lose Scenario. I gave my Guardian on the left, Warden and my leftmost Watcher +2STR. My Stones ported the Guardian on the left furhter left. Brad advanced and cast Mystic Wards (wrong order, gave away a free soul) and just dropped some Fury. I had 3 Watchers kind of durdle and hit things randomly to build Synergy, casting Stone Form but not their animus because I didn't want to give away loads of extra focus. One of them killed an Ogrun Mechanic in the middle though. Then my Watcher with +2STR charged the Node in Asphyxious' zone, killing it and using Stone Form and its Animus so it could remain in the zone after my feat. My Guardian on the left smashed a Slayer to bits and left the other one a heap of wreckage with no Cortex. My Warden charged a far away Slayer and managed to leave it with its right arm and Cortex after 3 pow 21 hits, two of which were boosted which kind of sucked. At least I slammed it 3". I had a Mannikin run to kind of gum up the Slayer on the right. My other Stone had a Mannikin kill an Ironmonger. At the end of the turn no CPs were scored as I couldn't touch the Slayer in my zone, but everything slid away 5". So, after some quick measuring I made a mistake and had slid the left Guardian >4" from the flag. Woops. Asphyxious cast Mobility and charged the Watcher in his zone, killing it. The Slayer in front of his zone charged my leftmost Guardian and dealt 10 damage to it. The Node used its gun to kill my Mannikin and Voci ran onto my flag. On the right a Trapper ran over the hill onto my flag. In the middle one Slayer flailed kind of uselessly at my Watcher, the mangled Slayer got up and charged my Warden dealing decent damage and the 2nd Slayer killed it. The remaining Slayer charged my leftern Watcher and left him without Body or Spirit. An Arc node got into my zone but failed to kill my Sentry and the Slayer chilling behind the forest stayed there as he was out of control. Cryx score 3, taking it to 3-0. Well, that was really silly. My little guy who lost body and spirit had his spirit healed, hit the Slayer in the forest with no movement then Stone Form & Animus. My healthy Watcher walked up to Asphyxious' flag and built some Synergy off a Slayer and used Stone Form & Animus. Bradigus then advanced up to the Slayer that was on 4 boxes in front of him and put him in the dirt, making sure to also be in a Stone triangle. My Guardian on the left bulldozed a landing zone for my Sentry and smashed the Slayer to scrap. My right hand stones ported my right hand Guardian up and he Rammed a Slayer out of Lich's control and KD'd it, then killed a full Slayer and the one on 6 or so boxes. My Watcher in my zone advanced into the back of the node in my zone and killed it. My left hand Stones then ported Brad over to the far right, safe from Lich and the slayer there. My Sentry on the left had its Mannikin charge into Lich's zone and kill the last Ironmonger, but he toughed, and on the right I sprayed the Soul Trapper off the flag. Score remained 3-0 to Cryx. So my opponent went pretty deep into the tank before coming up with a plan. The node near my flag walked back into Lich's zone and killed my Mannikin with its gun. The Ironmonger walked out of Lich's way. Lich cast Mobility and charged my Sentry near my flag, killing it and using Blood Boon to put Calamity on my Guardian before hitting him for good damage. Then the Slayer charged my Guardian, eating a Free Strike for no damage and putting my Guardian down. 5-0 to Cryx. Sadly, a loss for Circle. But I do have some stuff to take away. Attrition in this matchup is still overwhelmingly in Brad's favour, even with a super live scenario. I think I would have been fine if I hadn't made such a silly mistake on my own flag but with that being said I think this build does suffer without any Wayfarers or a Chef to run onto flags for easy CPs. Had I had the option of running a solo onto my flag on turn 2 I could happily have allocated my resources to score a CP on it and also contest allowing me to come nowhere close to losing scenario. Still, this is literally the most live scenario and I went second, allowing the Lich to buy a tonne of table space for both scenario and his feat (if Brad gets first he can often make him feat bottom of 1). I think I will go back to an older build I was messing around with for a little while and see how it feels. Bradigus Thorle the Runecarver [+27] - Wold Guardian [16] - Wold Guardian [16] - Wold Guardian [16] - Wold Wight [5] - Wold Wight [5] - Woldwatcher [8] - Woldwatcher [8] - Woldwatcher [8] Blackclad Stoneshaper [0(3)] Blackclad Stoneshaper [0(3)] Blackclad Stoneshaper [3] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] Sentry Stone & Mannikins [5] Sentry Stone & Mannikins [5] Shifting Stones [3] Shifting Stones [3] 75 Also, I played a 2nd game vs Lich3, where I gave him 20 Souls on his feat turn, absolutely crushed his army, killed both nodes but had Brad a couple mm too far to the right, and clipped some water on my feat return. So I was about 11.9" away from the Lich and I promptly got Hellfired to death. Woops!

Yep. If Skarre has 3 or less Stalkers I will pretty much always drop Krueger. More than that I start thinking about Brad. 5+ is definitely Brad town, I'd drop Krueger into 4 if she also has Cav to rebuke and no Eilish. What kind of lists are you playing vs? I have a game vs Skarre1 from my tournament on the previous page if it's helpful.

Most of the time it's the standard Skarre build with 4x Stalkers, Battle Engine, 2x Cav and Bane Warriors.

I haven't found the matchup too hard with Krueger. You just need to play very slow and steady. Brad should also be quite alright here, though. What specific issues are you struggling with? Also, time for a thread stats update! Hey man, thanks for the games vs Lich3, very interesting games! Side note, I figured I would weigh in on the small vs large battle reps. Personally I love the full ones you do as they really give a great summary of the games. I have an 18 month old son and a 7 month pregnant wife so gaming time is really limited at me for the moment. Being able to read those full battle reports let's me "live vicariously" a bit through your games . That being said, the small battle reports are definitely cool on an occasion, I just hope they don't fully replace the full ones myself. Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into these, I know it isn't easy!
