I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a model that is putting out a covering fire template, like the Manticore in Retribution, if that model were turned around by a telekinesis, or if it's LOS was limited by like the FEAT of the Witch Coven, if that would remove the covering fire? I guess just for completeness sake, what if the model was moved by a telekinesis so that the covering fire was beyond its range? Would the covering fire disappear or move with it? Or if the model were slammed or knocked down? Thanks for any help.

No.
Once a template is in play, the only thing that will get rid of a Covering Fire template is destroying the model, or waiting for it to expire naturally.
On a similar note, stuff that reduces the range of guns (like Windstorm) won't affect the range that they can put Covering Fire down.

On a similar note, stuff that reduces the range of guns (like Windstorm) won't affect the range that they can put Covering Fire down. There a ruling on that? Because Windstorm reduces range by 5" and Covering Fire allows placement of the template within the model's RNG (i.e. current RNG), so surely debuffs and buffs both apply. Nothing in the Covering Fire wording (as far as I can interpret) indicates that the RNG can't be affected by spells that increase or decrease that aspect of the weapon (& thus the action). I get that when the effect affecting the weapon's range expires or goes away by whatever method, the template won't move (as you've already mentioned, only way that happens if something specifically removes templates or the Covering Fire template laying model is destroyed/RFP). I've seen play with Snipe'd Covering Fire capable models incorporate the extra range...?

I did some digging and the LOS question seems to be answered by the fact that the damage is not actually coming from an attack anymore. Covering fire, despite how we are picturing it, actually works very similarly to Razor Wall in that the damage is already on the template. So its more like...covering claymores?

Thanks doubly... (by that, I mean I saw your clarification thread regarding Snipe). And it's good to read rules fully...! -_- *Action vs Ranged Attack and all that jazz.
