I managed a game with Morv2 ravagers. Been painting terrain, so wolf riders are still stuck in the paint queue.

Played into Denny2 Black Industries. Went 2nd, picked a side with walls (helped me dodge a clutch hellmouth) and surprisingly bagged 3 heavies and a light in a turn, including DJ. Hot dice got me DJ though. I definitely thought all the heavies to face would be game over. So not as bad as expected, though Denny landed a janky assassination with a hellmouth/Dark Banish play when I accidentally got exactly 3 from a gorax opposite side of a huge obstruction from Denny.

I have played blood pack about 5 times in MK3 and they are terrible dumpster fire trash. Seriously...just shelve them till CiD. If you don’t believe me try them yourself, I’m such a masochist I ran 2 Max Units cuz why not.,. Ive used them in an unconventional method that proved to be semi useful. they are your front line. they block charges on your ravagers, and can do some preliminary damage where needed and have a pretty decent threat range with assault. ive run the list with both baulder1 and wurmwood. its basically max ravager + UA min ravager max bloodpack whitemane (with baulder drop for another UA due to baulder already making everything no knockdown) shaman this lets you give basically your entire max unit a heart token. it is a LOT of no knockdown tough models with 5 hitboxes. and depending on which caster and how you play it are pow15. there are so many bodies on the table that any warnouns basically have to wade into the mess where you beast can then follow up the next turn.

polydox I mean sure you can use them as a screen but...6 models is not exactly a great screen and tharn die like chumps even with no knockdown tough. Bloodpack are actually 1 arm less than ravagers so are easier to remove. Your better off with Trackers as a screen especially under baldur 1 who makes the trackers blast immune. 13/14 is a terrible stat-line for 18 points of heavy infantry. Assault is cool and all but un-boosted rat 6 pow 13's just don't do much in the current meta, sure you can get them to pow 15 on the bow, but even that is not exactly impressive un-boosted. Its not enough rat to justify dedicated infantry hunting but not enough pow to use into targets you can reliably hit. Your always going to be better off using some other option.

Two more games today with the Morv2 list.
1st into Caine2 Sons. I planned on getting my bits shot off, but I weathered better than I expected, and went on to eat manny hearts. Was well up when Caine got in on Morv, but Brennos Arcane Suppression left him just 3 focus after squire and a gatecrash. Luck was not with him, as Morv was Fog of War and Spiny Growth. She cut him down herself.
Game 2 was a week 3 CID into Vlad2 AK. He had a victor plus typical MoW load, so I figured Id be outmatched at range and melee. I did rather well, with Death Wolves reaping many hearts. The feat bought me an extra turn, but the tide was decidedly against me, as Gheto went down to feated MoWs and I lost feated ravagers. But Vlad got to close to a full hearts Tala and Brennos, so paid the price.
This puts the list 3-0.
Im going to drop 1 ravager unit for Blood Pack and a unit of stones. Need to get table time with BP, though Im sure they are terrible.

Got a game with the above Krueger2 list vs Mortenebra2 Dark Industries in 3 flag Mirage. Cryx opted first, I chose the side that gave me my flag in a trench and alot of forest to block LoS to the middle. Cryx jammed right in, especially with a Failsafed kraken and lots of heavies. I had a chance to TK and Gallows Malice into range of Gheto, but missed the Gallows. It cost me the Grove and a few blood pack. Blood Pack shooting into a Carapace Malice through the forest was predictably sad. But they put their bodies between kraken and inflictor and Krueger. The Death Wolves and a white mane took about half the kraken down (mainly hot dice DWs with hearts). Wolf riders on either end worked over some lights. Ravagers moved in took some hits, and worked some more on Malice. Gheto got to DJ and wrecked him. Going into bottom of 3, I lost Skoll, a white mane, both wolf rider champs, about half of both ravagers and bloodpack. I still had Nalice, kraken, and inflictor, plus his witches and lights left. But Morty got too close. Krueger TKed her in and around and stabbed her a few times. Then a charging shaman and Assaulting blood pack did her in.
So male tharn continue to slap me around for dogging them.

After the game we talked Blood Pack. Suggested changes: 10/16 cost +1 ARM 12" range on bow 1" on melee Add Swift Hunter.

Even with that I still wouldn’t take them, they need to be more convincing to be taken over ravagers. My biggest issue is they do so little once they get there, Rat 6 pow 13 is just not super great.

Maybe we could have the Shaman be able to buff Tharn attacks, give a unit +2 POW for a turn (eg on bows or axes). Trying to buff Bloodpack mostly here.
Other ideas: Give Bloodpack weapon-master bows? Additional Damage dice or POW boost or 2nd shot if they aim. (I know they don’t really wanna aim as they’re a conflicted unit that also wants to fight) Make bowblade 2” since the bow is huge. Ability to gain hearts from ranged attacks via magic imbued in their bows. Give Bloodpack different arrows to fire (akla Hawkeye, or magical shots of gun mages etc) extra POW / RAT / Push w crit knockdown.

The Whitemane could have Elite cadre to give ALL Tharn Ravagers/Bloodpack +1MAT and perhaps a no knockdown ability just within his CMD?

Two more games with Krueger2. First vs Kaya3 Call of the Wild. I could not do enough into feated stalkers and scarsfells, dice were no help either, and failing a Gallows yet again left Kaya alive. A Synergy + Primal stalker got Krueger. Damned ravager charges couldnt even break stones. Still, overall it wasn't too bad. Just needed kinder dice. Wolf rider champs here flanked to good effect, one went down to hot dice from a stone CA. One got on Kaya. Both culled solos. Probably 6pts good. Bloodpack got torn up by beasts and did nothing because elusive griffons. Ravagers likewise mainly took it to the face and whiffed alot, though 1 got to Kaya.
Game 2 into Grissel2 Power of Dhunia. I probably should have lost when Primal Gheto ported into a feated sea king and tripped all over himself, but sea king was full, Grissel had 2 camp, and my feat pushed all his whelps away. That left the king on 1, and it frenzied into my shaman. It was a tough fight up from there, but I managed a scenario and caster kill win when Grissel failed to kill Gheto (hed frenzied into Caleb the turn prior). Wolf rider champs got to runeshapers, killed 1 between the two of them, then died like chumps. Blood pack took losses pretty hard. They killed a runeshaper unit and Lanyssa over the game, and Assaulted Grissel. Better than prior game, but really very little. At half the cost Death Wolves did FAR more work. Ravagers died like chumps, killing nothing. I made 1 of 17+ Toughs between both units and several solos.

So Tanith Dev Host took down Denny2 Infernal Machines. He only had 2 jacks - reaper and seether. They bunched up in port range Loki....
Thralls ambushed my objective. Ravager chief ate most the unit on his own after Tanith shot/spelled the brutes.
Blood pack soaked Wraithe and soulhunters. Denny got on Tanith and wacked her towards soulhunters, but she lived on one and still had 3 transfers (banking against soulhunters after a Banishment). The last 2 soul hunters fail charged because the leader had to eat a bloodpack freestike to keep CMD and died....causing field promote and thus fail charge.
Conclusions: I learned Scything Touch is model, not model/unit (whoops). Im terrible with Admonition. Tanith is fury starved.
