Recently I got my hands on a Brun&Lug. I was going to convert ole Lug into a gun carriage puller instead of little ponies, but I wanted to play a few games with him first.
Seeing as they are both immune to cold, I thought I could throw them in the line of fire for all the greylord sprays and not worry about them getting a bit chilly.
Zerkova2 however I don't have, never really planned on having. I've looked at a few double outrider lists but only got a few Uhlans to proxy them instead.
What is it that Zerkova2 does? Should I be arcnoding outriders and attempting some sniper hoarfrosts? With Sylys that seems ok, but I'm not running him. Probably shooting myself for not.
Greylord spam for extra feat spells, maybe. I feel like 50% of the army will be gone by the time I'm in Rng 10 for spells.
Fuelling a bunch of Jacks with Sac lamb? No real way of getting them up the board. Maybe Two Kodiaks and a Jugg for clouds and 2" extra run.
Do I put a destroyer on each seer and boost to hit paired with Occult Whispers or boost damage if I'm shooting something stationary.
I mean, I love Kozlov/B1 for being a Jack of All trades and having options. So all these options for Zerk2 seem ok to me in just 1 theme too.
So help us out if you know what she does best.
I tried making a list, it's a bit weird right now, but I'm open to some changes. It's not for anything super competitive, just me trying all the casters out and getting a feel for the ones I have never seen/used.

Thoughts: I can take out Reaver and Fenris for 21 points (Minus 4 free card points) for double outriders. I'm a bit low on horse models though as I said.
I could switch em for a Kodiak or Extra Jugg for more sac lamb efficiency.
I kind of want the bodies for Alexia1 though. Hopefully I can get a few Thralls and with Val and feat I can double Thrall on a turn. Grunts give me something to sac lamb without hurting me too bad, and when the doomies die, hopefully Alex is close enough to turn them into grunts for more fuel for boosting shots or being brave and charging in with Witchfire for boost + occult whispers.

I don't think a good list really exists for her at this point.
Maybe after Mad Men of Winter goes through CID and gets some more models....

If I'd play her I'd probably go for doomies since outrider list relies on assassination gimmick too much.

You have some play here with hoarfrosting and ice caging to make doomies hit, battle wizard+boosted sprays interactions and feat to abuse running escorts. Seems like one of the better casters to play doomie list with. She doesn't protect them against gunline but you don't want to play wolves into gunline anyway and marginal amount of shooting can be negated by Outriders double boosted spraying.

If you don't go for the assassination gimmick, then why are you playing her? I don't get going full doom reavers with her, she has low jack pts and does nothing for them, at this point any other caster would do it better. Until the wolves of winter theme force gets through CID I have given up hopes on Zerkova2

Short answer sounds like yes, we have given up.

What about Collosals though? Due to the rulings not a lot speeds them up, so it's not like Zerkova is missing much there.
Whenever I see a single Collosal list, there's an Orin standing around near it. Save yourself a few points, throw Banishing Ward on it, no more crippled/blind/stationary/arm reduced Conquest. Sylly Wylly for upkeep and bonus magic spam (Between feat free occult and double hoarfrosts Kova needs 6 focus on feat turn)

Ok, so here's what I'm thinking. Doomreaver spam with Zerkova2 isn't going to get too far up the board against anything with a single gun in the list. Double Outrider is more horses than I have and is an assassination list, and If you haven't heard, my assassination attempts go bad. Always.
She doesn't do much to protect anyone, so I need to bring more defensive support. So I've gone with some cloud Tech.
Ternions pop cloud. Now I don't want my Koldun or Seers that far up the feild that early just to be cloud jockeys. So, mechanics. 3 points, for 4 bodies. They'll get to take a dedicated attack or two if the enemy wants to remove the clouds. Just some shooting that the reavers don't have to take which is good.
The arcanists can cloud and zephyr back. Nothing crazy, but with Val, some ok synergy with Kova if they live. But two lots of 3x3 3" cloud wall should be enough for slowing down the death of some doomies.
I've ditched the bear pair, needed Sylys. Obvious reasons of 4d6 drop lowest Hoarfrosts. Should get a crit right?
Conquest aka Distraction Carnifex. I don't think the Conq will trade its points model4model. But if they send two Jacks its way, that's two Jacks that aren't taking out my Seers or Kolduns before they get within spray range. If it survives more than one turn, it's done it's job, because if 62boxes of damage goes towards my troops instead of it, by the time I feat, the only thing left will be my reaver guard. Maybe.
Everything else is self explanatory, get close. Kova feat, Cult Whispers. Spray and pray.

I liked playing her with the Winterguard theme. She did pretty well as an assassination caster, and if you're facing infantry then she can help clear out lots of dudes by arcing spells, keeping your winter guard alive.

Croe's Cutthroats. Rearrange the letters? Cos' True Arc Thots These Hoes were meant to be Arc Nodes.

i havnt given up on Zerkova2. i honestly find she still runs simular to the mk2 theme. ive been running the following list to decent success but its very limited in what it plays well into. usually high deff dosnt like this list. War Room Army

I'd definitely agree on Croe's being great arc nodes for her. I think she's fairly viable, especially with more and more infantry getting taken nowadays.

Maybe it's just be but I completely fail to see how this list is suppose to achieve anything... Just fuelling jacks is clearly not enough to make a caster a jack caster. Do you have any battle repports with that list?

She just seems to have a bit of an odd mix of spells and abilities.
Occult Whispers and her feat make her want to take lots of magical infantry, but she has no way to protect them outside Banishing Ward which does not really count.
She lacks a damage buff of any kind, so either needs to take infantry that can crack armour (which she does not support) or warjacks, which she can sac lamb to give focus, but does not have any other buffs for them.
If I were forced to play her I would go for Jaws of the Wolf with Behemoth, Destroyers and a pair of Eliminators, and just go for the Hoarfrost Stationary and shooting in the face assassination. problem is you might as well write your plan on your forehead its that obvious...

It's a gimmicky assassination list.
Fuelling Jacks is only half of it. With no access to Boundless Charge or anything, slamming, charging and Power Attacking, some free focus helps clear charge lanes.

The 14"-17" movement Croe's get on feat turn in order to get into assassination range for Zerkova's Hoarfrosts arc Noded through them.
Pair that with Sylys, free upkeep means Telgash is free, 7 Focus is Whispers, Hoarfrost feat Hoarfrost. 1 point for boost I guess. I think with activation, Sylys activates to boost the first Hoarfrost, then Cast Occult whispers if forge Seers or Valachev is in range to put in work. Feat, another frost?
So, 4D6 boosted drop lowest for maximum chance of stationary as a set up seems ok.
BB+Grolar+Destroyer or whatever to land shots on the target.
On feat turn 1 seer can load BB. Seer 2 can throw out another 2 focus, not need to Sac Lamb hopefully.
Like it's been said, you can see it coming from a mile away, but same with Scorscha1.

It is deeply frustrating. I spent a LONG time painting her up and her cabana boys. I think one of my better paint jobs. I love the doom reaver escort. But it is just so hard to get work done with her.
Now I do think the right theme with her is NOT wolves but rather WGK. With rockets (red glare) and Mortars and then destroyers you probably have enough (and enough redudancy) to really make Hoarfrost worrisome. The problem is that you can't bring sylyss in that list - thus hurting your chances to score the critical.
