As I posted in the Cygnar forum
Between the announcement of next year's CID and seeing that Cryx got a total of 6 themes, I began wondering when will other faction's get there final 1 to 2 themes to catch up. When that happens I am curious to know (and hear what other people think) what those themes will be and what benefits will be available to them.

Assuming the Ogrun CID starts in January with 6 week duration followed by a 2 week cooldown we have the following schedule:
Ogrun: Jan-Feb MOW: Mar-Apr Crucible: May-Jun Exemplar: Jul-Aug Tharn: Sep-Oct Pirates: Nov-Dec
So if my assumptions are accurate we shouldn't be expecting anything new until at least 2019. This is excluding non-theme releases similar to the 12-Factions of Christmas.
I play Legion and Protectorate, so themes I'd like to see explored in no particular order would be: -Order of the Wall outside of Faithful Masses -Blighted Minions ala Disciples of Agony -Foreign Menites like Reznik's old merc theme -Inquisition force with Scrutators and other Priests

Most CIDs have been 2-3 weeks lately. I STRONGLY doubt any 2018 CID will be 6 weeks. 4 at most.

I'd like to see a cavalry theme, although I'm not sure what bonuses or free points you could conceivably give to a theme of that nature. We've only got three cavalry casters, so it would be very limited.

We've only got three cavalry casters, so it would be very limited. As long as they include a few additions like mounted Idrians and some solos or UAs, it'd flesh out to a reasonable theme. As for benefits I came up with a few below. ::+1" Repo moves ::Return of the old ride by attack move :: +1SPD ::Minifeat Parry or some protection against free strikes for a unit. ::Crushing Weight for more impact attacks The possibilities are limited only by imagination.

Having thought more on it, a dedicated fire theme would be really nice. Seeing as cygnar got a dedicated lightning theme. Something like...

I like the idea of fire theme, but: 1. I think that HoJ and/or EoT should be available in such theme. 2. - crusader + sanctifier(this guy has ashen veil and can help vs incorporeal models)
3. maybe we need 2nd jack theme, since we already have 3 unit-oriented theme.
4. possible theme bonuses: repenter gain gunfighter. purifier gain bonuses vs burning models. enemy models that were destroyed by fire continuous effect are removed from play(in this case judicator should not be available).

i feel 90% sure that Eye of Truth is only going to be allowed in a theme if PP are convinced that the faction or the theme needs a power spike.
i do not think it was a coincidence that some of the weaker, less interesting (Not A listers) casters like Malekus and Tanith gained such powerful bonded models.
So while Eye of Truth in a theme is the absolute dream because hes incredible... i dont think PP will budge just like they wont budge on Loki unless they're trying to buff the faction and even then... it means future releases have to be concerned about interaction with very powerful models

look at legions CoD theme. they have two powerful char beasts there and they have unyielding from theme bonus. maybe we can have something similar? Like: - HoJ - EoT fire-based light jacks with additional buff?

I'm not sure that every caster being able to deliver our jacks as well as Amon and Feora2 would be fair. Part of the reason our jacks are slower is because they hit like trucks. Fixing that across the board in a dedicated theme feels greedy to be. In a way this has been provided already through exemplar interdiction - + 2" deployment, +1 starting roll, blessed weapons on warjacks. It'd be like a protectorate theme that can bring HoJ, EoT, purifier, and repenter.

I like the fire theme idea and if we wanted it to be a bit more jack friendly, what about some of these ideas:
- X Heavy Warjacks gain Advanced Move for each unit with Immunity: Fire in the army. - Heavy Warjacks gain Repo: 3" - Warjacks with Spray ranged weapons gain Assault - When an enemy model ends it activation within 2" of a Warjack in this army with Immunity: Fire, it receives the Continuous Fire condition unless the Warjack was destroyed or removed from play during its turn. - Warjacks in this army can charge enemy models suffering the Continuous Fire condition without spending focus.
Just some ideas, and I think a good way to get the idea running. I also agree that this would be restricted to specific casters, like ones that are immune to fire, and then have some other added, like Reznik2 and probably, Severius1+2. Could be a fun list in the long run.
