Between the announcement of next year's CID and seeing that Cryx got a total of 6 themes, I began wondering when will other faction's get there final 1 to 2 themes to catch up. When that happens I am curious to know (and hear what other people think) what those themes will be and what benefits will be available to them.

I know this was done on facebook a few months ago but I seriously think that the 2 themes that will be made available will be the obvious ones. Church of Morrow and Cygnarian reconnaissance Service. For Church of Morrow benefits, I see them going like this - Sword Knights and Runewood gain Precursor Tag
- 20 points of precursor models/units gain free solo or UA (the typical one)
- When Precursor models within warcaster's control are destroyed that model does not give a corpse or soul token to enemy models.
- Warjacks gain Righteous Vengeance
Warcasters would be open to everyone. Units would be mainly precursor units and sword knight units Solos - Runewood, Versh, & Junior warcasters Warjacks - all non-character warjacks I also see Constance Blaize possibly getting worked on (maybe even a full rework) as well as the theme gaining a few units/models. For those of you who saw this homebrew on the facebook page, I was hoping the theme would gain a new light melee-oriented warjack (something cygnar doesn't have), a precursor gun mage unit, a support precursor solo, precursor heavy cav, and a sword knight weapon attachment called Longswords that has reach and rapid strike.

They have repeatedly said that we're not getting a Morrowan theme any time in the near future unless there were a looooot of models released for it. I don't think Cygnar is going to be catching up any time soon with the glut of releases we got. They will do many other factions first, including Crucible Guard this next year and who knows what other new thing they'll do the year after. It'll likely be several years before we get anything substantial beyond 12 factions of Christmas type of model releases or anything close to the Trencher release. Perhaps we'll get some kind of CID in a couple years, but there is no plan for us to get any attention next year.
It's likely that we'll get one more theme update before a new edition in the next several years. I don't think they plan to have all of the factions be equal in the amount of themes that they have. Every model has a home in a theme right now and they have been clear that that has been their intention all along. They will likely continue with that siloed approach to design for som etime to come.

They have said that the CID cycle is dictated by the release cycle. So looking at the past and planned CID cycles, it goes in this order:
Cygnar Trolls Minions Cryx Legion Khador Crucible Menoth Circle Mercs
that's leaves Skorne and Ret whose new theme of releases is yet to be announced (probabaly Nyss for Ret, could be anything for Skorne, but I would say Immortals and construct warbeasts)
so we still have 8 CID cycles and sets of releases to go before every faction has had one (I am not counting CoC and Grymkin as I don't think they will get anything new) and before we have the chance of seeing another release for us.

If a Morrowan theme happens it will likely be part of a Merc CiD cycle (since technically precursors and Constance are Mercs but it's one that will likely include Cygnar units so it may come around sooner than you think. (Releases depending.)
I can see the reconnaissance service being done and would hope it to be a flexible theme with many unit options but limited FA for certain unit types (you can only include 1 unit with the trencher or arcane tempest keyword for example) but in exchange maybe greater access to mercs? (I don't know how much Cygnar uses mercs to help out with their dirty work but it seems likely to me.) I would expect the Black 13th to be part of it.
As for benefits, I have no idea since anything at this point would be wish-listing.

They have repeatedly said that we're not getting a Morrowan theme any time in the near future unless there were a looooot of models released for it. They specifically said they don't want to release a faction or theme based upon 1 model was the statement. Currently Church of Morrow doesn't fall under that case, HELL, even Crucible guard had less models then morrowans and yet a whole faction coming out for them. I think we need to sweep this thinking under the rug

The precedent of the Llaelese Resistance getting other models (even other factions) and turning them into Llael models means that the Precursor tag could be handed out in much the same way.

Think we will wait 1-2 years for cygnar.
I could see a Morrowan or a reconnaise theme. Or something entiry new. From a salespoint Its better to shove out something new than getting playability out of of Blaize, stormguard infantry etc.

Next year we will get a faction of Christmas model, buffs to mercs will often be buffs to us and there might be an impromptu cid (like battle engines got) that may include us.
Not much concrete for cygnar, though. I personally would like a melee theme (a spruce up of storm divisions models) or something like weathermen or sons of the tempest to get more models.

I'd be interested in seeing a plot-related theme like Kingmakers. A handful of Warcasters available with a more esoteric selection of units and solos.

This was mine: Riot Squad Cygnar Warcasters -Heavy and Light Warjacks with the AOE weapon quality -Minuteman warjacks -Cygnar units/models with AOEs or the grevious wounds rule -Trencher combat engineer units -mercenary/minion units/models with AOEs or the grevious wounds special rule -For every 20 points of units in this army you can include 1 valid solo free of cost -Models in this army gain the force barrier special rule -Warjacks in this army gain +2" of movement when they make a slam power attack

Have they confirmed that the factions of Christmas is going to be a regular thing? I was sunder the impression this year was a one-off.

Was it a big hit? If it was it's likely(er) they'll do it again...

I believe so. At LnL this year they indicated this would be a regular thing, I think.
