So I've taken quite a break from WM, and as a result I have no idea what's going on in WM/H land. I have an initial inkling of what I want to play at the moment, but since I'm going to have to buy all these models again, I'm going to want to make targeted purchases this time, so I'm counting on you guys to help me filter out the losers and get going with a strong pairing.
First up, Vlad1.
75 pts (Winter Guard Kommand) Vlad1 Spriggan Marauder WGI min w 3 rocketeers x3 Kovnik Joe Gun Carriage x2 WG Mortar Team x2 WG Field Gun
I'm sure this list is self explanatory. Overwhelm with ranged firepower, Flare up pesky targets/stealth warnouns with the overpriced spriggan, and hopefully push back the stuff that makes it to the line with the Marauder and Spriggan.
Next
75 pts (Jaws of the Wolf) B3 Ruin Juggernaut x2 Devastator Raluk Moorclaw Vanguard Greylord Forge Seer Destroyer Greylord Forge Seer Destroyer Widowmaker Marksman
I'm basically stuck in my old ways here. What do you think guys? Should I go for someone else? Is Incorporeal spam a thing again? Maybe I should do Vlad2 instead?

Welcome back! Bless you for being willing to try the Spriggan.

I think you'll have a problem with any important amount of incorporeal, the B3 list won't really cut it against something like gremlin swarms in grymkin. I think the Vlad1 really needs ayana & holt with valachev to do the trick.

The Vlad1 list looks solid. Rocket spam, Fun Carriages is always powerful.
I'd maybe suggest just forgetting the Spriggan and If you see a Haley3 list or some sort of Zerkova cloud spam just take your B3 list instead.
For your B3 list, having 3 outta 6 Jacks being marshalled is risky. If Incorporeals are a bother maybe run A&H&V. I'm not sure what your plan is for Raluk and the vanguard either. Is it for the shield guard and repair? Plus if Raluk somehow gets picked off no-one can pick up the Vanguard. Double risky.
You've got access to Tinkers and or Battle Mechanics with Repo. Just let whatever is going to take the hit, take it and repair it.
Having a kodiak or two will probably help you get up the field with steam, and they do great at ripping through infantry so your other Jacks won't get jammed.
I'm not a big B3 player as I'd say my assassinations tend to always end up looking like my numbers are In binary only. So this probably isn't a competitive list, but I think it's safer than 3 marshals marshalling.
B3 WJ: +22 War Argus Kodiak 0 (13) Kodiak 4 (9) Ruin 17 Juggernaut 12 Juggernaut 12 Marauder 10
Forge Seer 0 Forge Seer 0 Gobber 2 Gobber 2
Widowmakers 8 Aiyana & Holt 8 -Valachev 0

RE: auraco I was considering giving Zerkova2 a serious go at it. I saw it on the table and the concept seems pretty strong in it's ability to remove quite a fistful of models in a turn. She doesn't seem like she's as strong an assassin as B3 is, but she does seem much more able to enact her plan than B3, and I think that counts for a lot in this game. 75 pts (Wolves of Winter) Zerkova2 Silly willy Conquest
Koldun Lord (free) Greylord Outriders full x2 A&H w Valachev (Vally free) Ternion Battle Mechaniks min RE: lovehugs The B3 list is an old concept I was using before I stopped playing. It's a heavy piece trade list that moves in a staggered column directly at the bulk of the OPFOR and baits the heavy trading game. The entire objective of the list is to trade heavies one by one until I eventually hold the heavy monopoly and win on scenario or assassinate the enemy caster if they screw up and get too close to B3. This is what's going on with Ruin, the Juggers, and the Dev. The other part of the list was Iron Fangs and Widowmakers in Jamie P's B3, but I made changes to the independent module to some more permanent fixtures for personal preference reasons (that and IFs never seem to trade that well if I don't build a list entirely around getting them to work). Raluk and the Vanguard are tried and true fixtures in my B3-3 list because Raluk is the toughest mechanik around and the Vanguard is a very solid jack even without a caster because of it's impressive statline. It extended the effectiveness of the jack ball against shooting quite substantially (and also helped keep B3 covered against pot shots), at least long enough to force the scenario issue. Kodiaks are good jacks no doubt, but they are not good at killing other heavies, and that's the reason why Juggers make the cut over Kodiaks in this instance. The more I have to involve Ruin or Butcher in the piece trades, the riskier my play has to become in order to see the attrition play through, and juggers help mitigate that issue as long as they stick around.

You need magic weapons in your list to deal with cryx and grymkin, the problem with Zerkova2 is that she doesn't really answer dark menagerie in grymkin or dark host in cryx since they have too much armor for the pow 12 spam Zerkova2 brings to the table. Zerkova2 at the moment just doesn't really work in my opinion... She doesn't have a lot of warjack points because of her two dudes, she needs to be close to the frontline to use them but she doesn't have the stats to be close to the frontline, so they end up being mostly dead points that don't really have a purpose in the list. Her entire gimmick is also spamming pow 12 everywhere, but that has its limits.

B3 has some magic weapons in there, so this will mean both my lists have at least a little self-defense against incorporeal stuff.

Sounds like it should work for the Vlad list.
