Not me for sure but I keep tinkering around with variations of this list. Is there anything to it and what would you do? Obviously I'm going for all the knockdown and then blast them with the bombers and sluggers. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0D7e0r0rfI0k0mc86e6e0909cChUTrollbloods Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company (Grissel 2) Grissel Bloodsong, Marshal of the Kriels [+27] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Sons of Bragg [11] Thumper Crew [0(5)] Thumper Crew [0(5)] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10] - Trollkin Sorcerer (1) [3] Trollkin War Wagon [16]

Kriel Company is hard to build for because you really want a gunline to be beast-heavy, but the bonuses are based out of infantry. Worse, you dotn really have enough shooting to prevent them reaching melee, and the loss of the Mauler really hurts there.

I’ve been trying to build a decent list with Rok/Mulg so not having Rage wasn’t such an issue.
It’s a tough project, but Doomy 1 has a decent toolbox for it.

There might actually be something to that. Either Doomy 1 with Mulg and Fortunate Scattergunners or Borka 1 with Rok and Arcane Warded Raiders. So if one Raider with +2 MAT from the Fell Caller uses Mosh Pit to knock down a warp wolf, the others can then shoot it at DEF 5 or would it be 9? I can never remember these things. I can see either of them using a Mountain King or War Wagon.

This is a bit silly but could be fun. Fortune could be good on the Wagons as well as the Scattergunners. The engines can beasts can both slam jacks, then Mulg can arc Stranglehold at them. Or he can see right through a screen of Scattergunners to cast directly. There is some pretty good scenario presence, though a second, smaller unit would help for scoring in Outlast. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0D505Tjpjq6G6G6R0l0m6t7rhUhUTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company (Doomshaper 1) Hoarluk Doomshaper, Shaman of the Gnarls [+29] - Dire Troll Blitzer [16] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Troll Whelps [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Scattergunners (max) [14] - Scattergunner Officer & Standard [4] Trollkin War Wagon [16] Trollkin War Wagon [16]

I have also considered Ragnor as pulv helps beasts and his feat with the Wagon causes some rage. Lol
Also... not to beat the drum totally dead... lol... but Madrak 1’s feat with double War Wagons could be terrible for the opponent as well. A pyre troll could help Madrak do work himself and would allow you to bring double fire Eaters as well.

I'm liking the notion of Borka2 with Rok and some ice and winter trolls, and maybe a pyre so the man can do some real work. I'm sure this is far from perfect, but it looks like it could be fun. Between Borka2, Rok, and the Sons of Bragg it has a lot more punch than a typical KC list without a Mountain King. I'm not sure about the minions in particular, but I figure they'll let B2 do the KD, scalpel spirit/cortex, reposition away gambit in addition to clearing the clouds that make all the guns sad.
Borka2 - Kriel Company - Runebearer free - Rok - Pyre - Ice Fell Caller Hero Sons of Bragg max Northkin Raiders max Scattergunners with UA and Sorcerer min Bushwhackers with UA Thumper Crew Lynus & Edrea

I always liked Calandra in KC but I could never get the list to feel right with out a mauler. What about something like: conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0D5a0rfmj56Di_2N6eeBconflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0D5a0rfmjq6Rj5i_2N6eeBTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company !!! Your army contains a pre-release entry. (Calandra 1) Calandra Truthsayer, Oracle of the Glimmerwood [+27] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Glacier King [35] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Troll Whelps [4] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Pyg Lookouts (min) [7] Swamp Gobbers Bellows Crew [2] Thumper Crew [5] Trollkin Highwaymen (max) [15] I'll have to mess around with it more and maybe try to fit in some burrowers. Most of your stuff will be 13 + concealment under 18" star crossed. That should give it some legs into a shooting attrition game. To take out high armor you have the king and CRA from the highwaymen on targets you befuddled to get the back strike on. It should also have some pretty serious assassination threat. It feels a little light on units, but you can't get a 3rd free thing while still taking the GK unless we got a 7 point beast with a ranged attack. I guess you could do just the king and drop the welps. I'll have to play around with it more, but it could be interesting.

I've played the following quite a few times, it's quite a powerful list and makes good use of the excellent War Wagon which is the main reason to play Kriel company in my opinion.
Hunters Grim [+25] Dire Troll Bomber [19] Dire Troll Bomber [19] War Wagon [16] War Wagon [16] Pygmy Burrowers (max) [13] Krielstone (min) + UA [6 + 0] Sons of Bragg [11] Fell Caller [0] Fell Caller [0]
Basically the War Wagons kill the opposing infantry and then you hope some combination of Bombers, laser troopers and weapon master charges is enough to deal with opposing armour. Generally works well but obviously you have to watch for some bad match ups. You can easily drop one of the Fell Callers for a Runebearer if you want (personally having played Hunters Grim many times I feel fairly comfortable without one).

Are you taking the second Fell caller purely as a combat solo?
Literally only the caster unit, Burrowers and Krielstone can benefit from it. I think I would suggest either the Runebearer (as you noted for throwing out Mortality) or Baylen who is a great flag scoring combat solo.

I love this version of Grim2 in KC (stolen from someone on facebook) conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0Dcx0r0rjqeC0l0mc809hUhUTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Kriel Company (Grim 2) Hunters Grim [+25] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Braylen Wanderheart, Trollkin Outlaw [0(5)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [0(3)] Sons of Bragg [11] Trollkin Sluggers (max) [10] Trollkin War Wagon [16] Trollkin War Wagon [16]

I played this for a while
War Room Army
Trollblood - Horgle mk
Theme: Kriel Company 2 / 2 Free Cards 74 / 75 Army
Horgle, the Anvil - WB: +29 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Mountain King - PC: 36 (Battlegroup Points Used: 29) - Pyre Troll - PC: 8
War Wagon - PC: 16
Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Northkin Fire Eaters - Leader, Trollkin Grunt, and Pyg Grunt: 7 Trollkin Sluggers - Leader & 4 Grunts: 10 Trollkin Sluggers - Leader & 4 Grunts: 10 Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes - Leader & 3 Grunts: 6 - Stone Scribe Elder - PC: 3 Pummeler Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 0
and it worked pretty well. IR on the war wagon and the MK made them hard to deal with, and of the feat turn even the sluggers can kill a battle group. This was before the stone change too, so it’d probably, be even better now.

I haven't noticed the lookouts in any of these lists, insisting my own. On consideration, they seem really important to our low accuracy shooting. Have you all thought about them and rejected them, or is it more that they are too new, or is there another reason you didn't include them? I forgot about them when I made that B2 list, but they seem like they'd be pretty good in it, if I can find the points for them.

(Calandra 1) Calandra Truthsayer, Oracle of the Glimmerwood [+27] - Dire Troll Bomber [19] - Glacier King [35] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Braylen Wanderheart, Trollkin Outlaw [0(5)] Pyg Burrowers (max) [13] Pyg Lookouts (min) [7] Trollkin Highwaymen (min) [9] Trollkin Highwaymen (max) [15] This uses lookouts and I think they have a pretty strong place in the list. Only downside is I think it is going to be reliant on the GK animus and gunfighter from the highwaymen to clear being jammed up. Dug in concealed burrowers under star crossed should make a good screen. Turn after you free up the burrowers and you bring in the lookouts and go to town. The mist speaker seem like it might be a pretty big boon for trolls. doubly so in a no stone or SotN list. Anyone else think this list might be worth trying?
