Allright, so after about half a year that I followed this forum at least weekly, more like daily, I finally wanted to create my own Thread. I thought I would use this change to show you the Tournament Pairing that I have been tinkering with. I've been playing Warmahordes since May 2017 and imediatly fell in love with The Trollbloods. Beer Drinking Scotts with huge Hulk-like Creatures in their Rank? whats not to love? I also didn't really partake in the Hobby at all until around October in 2016 when I wanted to try what it was like to play Blood Bowl on the Table instead of my PC.
This will also be a fair little warning: I tend to go on and on about things that interest me. So if you don't want to read a wall of text, by all means choose a different thread. The Beauty about forums to me is that you can't really spam because everybody has the change to just ignore a thread. Also, I wouldn't ask me anything about Chinese Martial Arts if you don't want to have a wall of text in your inbox
Ok, this is the Pairing that I am Working on: Madrak1 and Madrak2!

My thinking here was the following. I usually try to build list Pairings with the idea of one being able to handle Infantry Swarms, the other one Should handle Heavybricks. What I really don't like though is a massively specialized List. My Goal here was to have kind of a preferred matchup, but not immediatly lose if I face the other List. So: Champions in Madrak1 and Berserk and Overtake in Madrak2.
I think my Madrak1 List is pretty straight forward. I tried double champs, as well as the champ hero, but 2 champs didn't feel versatile enough for me and the champion hero made me play waaayy to aggressive which is always a big problem for me and will usually lose me my games. The only thing that could be interesting is the choice for lynus wesselbaum. I am using the Cid version here which let's me get rid of cloud walls (pretty neat i think) and that can also heal d3 from a friendly model. the idea here is to have the sorcerer stay in the backfield and heal him up with lynus, so the champs can survive still a little while longer.
I think a lot more thought went into the second List. It is actually kind of a try to play a good Armor Crack List without to many Beasts. My own personal experience was actually that I just could not get the Hang of Beastbricks. At Least noch the Heavy Beast Brick I see on the forum quite often. In the Beginning I almost always lost Mildred (My Dire Troll Mauler is called Milldred) before all my other Beasts were dead, which crippled me to a point where i almost always lost. When I got the Hang of keeping her Safe it was Still kind of the Same (Now sie was basically just a rage bot though) the games would play out like this. My beasts cost so much, that I Basically almost need to Kill at least 1 1/2 Heavy Jacks, or my Atrrition was just not on Point. Sure, if I can get a huge Doomy2 alpha that was possible once in a while, but more often than not I could get to about 4 10-Point Heavy Jacks at the Most and would then be crushed to pieces by the remaining Premium Heavies he was saving in the Backfield.
That's why I decided to Run a "Infantry Armor Crack List" To be Honest I really think the Bear Handler was introduced as our way of a budget Heavy. 4x PS 15 and 2x PS 16 which goes up to PS 17 and 18 is pretty much the statline a few of the cheaper Khador and Menoth Heavies have. If I could boost there damage it would be perfect, I thought. Aaaand in comes Blood Fury. So now I had 2 10-Point units that can almost hit as Hard as the Butcher (PS18 Weapon Master? seriously?) I probably don't want to ambush them though because I really don't want to send them in without Blood Fury, but that probably depends.
Now I needed a way to keep them safer from shooting or how to enable their Prowl. This is where the Glacier King comes in. a 3" Concealment bubble is huge when he can run 12" on his own. if I start i can Run 22" up the Board (15" without my deployment zone). My Bears with Lanyssa and SPD Buff will threat for 14" which leaves my Opponent 12" inches of wiggling Room (2" without his own deployment). If anyone finds any Problems in My little math excurse please say something, I don't really use Math that often at my line of work. The Last Thing is Lynus wesselbaum in here as well because of course clouds, but also applied knowledge on the Glacier King. 3x Pow 14 could take out a cortex which is huge, especially if I crit freeze. that would be one less Jack to deal with.
Oh and of course the Kriel warriors which are basically just there to act as shield guards for Madrak. With take up the range is even extended by 1". and in the way End of the game a charging weapon Master unit with pow 12 and maybe Mat 7 from the fellcaller still sounds ok in my book.
So, like I said going on and on. I would really love your constructive criticism. I also didn't play the Last Version with the Glacier King yet. On Thursday I will have my next game and could update this threat on how viable it is to have those Bears chained to the Mountain King or If they would rather be Wild and Free. Then I will put in 2x Brawler and could also argue that Long Rider could be better then the Kriel Warrior, because the Still threat with 13 1/2" on their Slam which would be 3x Pow14 one pow12 Weapon Master hits for each Cow.
Anyways thanks for reading if you have come this far. If by any Chance you are capable of the German tongue you could also read the thread in the forum of the Club i play at to read more of the thought process and the game leading up to the two Lists you can see above. Bis dahin! www.makropole-marburg.de/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1574
have a nice day all of you
