I mean, with the hope that a MoW theme will one day be good... We probably are going to want two Kovniks in these lists.
But the pose, oh gods the pose! I mean it's mostly the legs that mess it up.
With my original one I used a load of green stuff between the torso and legs and also bent the legs to some extent. That made it a bit more passable, but not ideal. Swapping the legs for a standard set of MoW legs could also work, though you would need to cut bits off. And of course the scale of the plastic legs doesn't quite match the metal torso (Also where would you get spare legs? I guess you can order metal legs still?).
Thoughts? I know this has come up in the past, but has anyone come up with a brilliant solution yet?

The MOW Kovnik was one of my first Warmachine purchases, back in MkII. He was a P+S 15 Weaponmaster! That was very nearly as good as the Butcher! Plus he could give out, like, six focus (two warjacks, each gets one pseudofocus and two boosted attack rolls with the drive)! AND HE HAD A GUN IN HIS AXE! Like that vampire-killin' fella, what was his name? Oh yeah, Abe Lincoln. Well, that was the theory anyway. The reality is the he almost never did anything except disappoint me. Nevertheless, the final nail in his coffin for me was losing Weaponmaster: now he's just a chump who walks along cheering for other dudes so that maybe they won't be as painfully slow. Sometimes I think I might be playing this game wrong... Anyway, I also thought his pose was God-aweful, so I did what I could to improve it: KovnikWIP01.JPG (248.84 KB) The idea was to have him sort-of gesturing with his axe. Ish. This was a very long time ago so I don't remember exactly what I did, but basically I rotated his upper body forwards on his hips, filling the gaps with greenstuff (I probably pinned it in place; pretty sure I pinned EVERYTHING on this guy; I do for most of my metal models). I swapped his right arm for the mounted Drakhun right arm, which I bought off the PP bits store. When I attached his hand, I rotated it outwards rather than simply sticking the wrist on directly; this allowed me to position the axe in a realistic angle, rather than having it curled inwards. Obviously I sculpted over the joint. I reshaped the axe head to personal taste, and bulked up the axe shaft diameter a bit with greenstuff. I think I made a press-mold from greenstuff of the original "kovnik" badge on his right shoulder, cast a copy from greenstuff, and glued it onto the replacement shoulder (the Drakhun shoulder pad already has a fancy badge, but it looks OK glued on top); not really an important detail I suppose, but I was new and green and trying to do everything "right", so I didn't want to leave off any iconography that might be "important" - in contrast I now actively do things "wrong", as a joke. An alternate idea would be to use the arms from the Battle Mechanic Officer; his arms and shoulders are different from standard MOW and I think they look very cool. Anyway, let me if you want some close-up photos or anything.

You don't use it all and instead buy a third box of shocktroopers, converting two into shocktrooper officers, two into kovniks, and 1 into an unmounted drakhun?
I mean, that's what I did. I hate resin/metal products.

Huh, I always kind of liked the pose. Looks like he's leaning back after shrugging off some silly Cygnar fire.

Here's my own. As you can see I put a lot of work into the conversion. I added a lot of green stuff to make it much bigger. Then I sculpted a tail for it and covered it in fur. No wait, that's my cat. My bad.

So, it looks like you swapped the legs out? What legs did you use? I was thinking about replacing the head, but it looks difficult to remove the exisiting head -_-

I bought him off someone and he's the damn best kovnik I be seen. Having a closer look, I can tell you that his legs have come off a metal demo corps model. One of them has identical legs.

You want to complain about the Kovnik? What about Vlad1's "Surprise! Codpiece, sucker! Uhngh!"?

I went for the alt Vlad model...the other one is just...wrong. I'm pretty neutral to the MOW Kovnik. I'd just rather he had retained weaponmaster.
