I've got a couple of tournaments coming up and I want to take my KoldGranma list (or something like it) to at least one of them. Unfortunately I'm not having any luck coming up with a list to pair with it that speaks to me so I figured I'd ask the masses. Part of the problem is I haven't had a chance to drop the list into enough lists to figure out what its real weaknesses are but I think its going to have some trouble with infantry spam forcing me out on scenario. Any suggestions/comments for my Kolgrima list or what to pair with it welcome conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0bj1jn9DiYiYjp0hiXjqfJ6Rfp0ki-Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Power of Dhunia !!! Your army contains pre-release entries. (Kolgrima 1) Kolgrima Stonetruth, Winter Witch [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Ice Troll [9] - Ice Troll [9] - Mulg the Ancient [22] - Troll Axer [10] - Troll Basher [7] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Northkin Shaman [0(4)] Troll Whelps [0(4)] Dhunian Knot [6] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [3]

Foe the second list I would suggest building a combined infantry/beast list that will give you a bit more play in scenarios where you are force to spread out.
Since this list is relatively slow, I think you should consider a list that is relatively fast and can threaten a long distance either through some boostable ranged attacks or a long charge threat.
Something like Jarl in SoTN, Grissel2 SOTN, Madrak1. Basically anything that can run infantry half well and generate threat.
Also this list should incorporate a substantial number of attacks to deal with large numbers of infantry spam as the Kolgrima list currently does not have a very large volume of attacks and may struggle into extreme infantry spam.

Actually this list is fairly fast when it needs to be; with rush, northkin stone, and hunter's mark models can get pretty far when they need to. I do agree though its limited on its volume of attacks though and I'm thinking about switching an ice troll to winter troll to help a bit with this. I've tried making Jarl work but stopped because I wasn't really having fun and I want to avoid Madrak1 because #snowflake but i may see what I can toss together for a Grissel2

for a #snowflake you should be doing Gunny - Kriel Company. Make it happen.

I fear that it is the answer to every troll question at the moment, but I’m going to have to say madrak1. The main thing he doesn’t want to see is a gunline, which kolgrima is a great answer to.
On the other hand, if you want Kolgrima as your ‘main’ list, your biggest problem matchups are probably going to be Cryx, and anything that bring an extreme armour/box skew. If you don’t want to play madrak, then borka1 and Grim2 would be good considerations.

Grim 2 double WW?
I do not love the min stone in the original list though. I think dropping either the knot or the basher for a maxed stone and some small extra things. perhaps swamp gobbers to score, and a feralgeist/chef. I probably would ditch the knot. i know they are nifty, but you are really struggling to spread out and contest. Attrition will probably be fine anyway, and the assassination potential might be slightly too low even with them to be a serious game plan. Crit stationary is a nice idea for sure, but it may not be enough... The stone can play way more agressive with access to all the clouds though, so maybe it is fine...

I did that a while back but it felt a little pillow fisted + I'd have to actually finish building and painting my thumper/pummeler crews then I fear that it is the answer to every troll question at the moment, but I’m going to have to say madrak1. I think Madrak1 is our new shiny piece that most everyone had and while he answers a lot of questions I don't think he's our only answer to things. Beyond my desire to play warlocks other than the current hype I'm also concerned about playing him as the list would likely end up being my troll drop and I really want to avoid Madrak1 v Madrak1 matchup where it'll likely come down to who's better with Madrak1 (probably not me) Grim 2 double WW? Fair point on the stone but I find the knot to be a real asset in the list as it helps the rat 5 beasts hit, makes Kolgrima's crit stationary chance pretty insane even against high def casters (~87% against def 16), and I'm actually using it in here for a bit of fury management as well. I may be a little too married to the knot though so I'll have to see how it feels without it or the basher since as I do want the full stone and would really like a good contesting solo like a feralgeist or gremlin swarm. The Grim2 suggestions are speaking to me for a pair so I'll see what I can put together
