Have a question for Retri players:
I have a company that has 10 points left. (Artificer + Magister + Narn) At first I filled this gap with a 'jack, but recent experiences showed me that there are times when you have much better odds with a higher model count. So I started to think about swapping the jack with a unit. For thematic reasons, I want to pick something from the Dawnguard. For the first glance the question is quite easy as Sentinels are not an option, because the minimum unit costs 11 points, and basically I don't want to change anything else in the existing list. But if they're definetely the better option, I'll start reconsidering one of the core models. (Maybe use it as a proxy for a cheaper model) So what's your CoI experiences with those? My curiosity mainly leans toward their self-reliance. Do any of them need a specific support piece to work well? (Because in that case their cost could be too high to insert them into the list)
Thanks for the answers.

I don't play Ret, but wouldn't the versatility of Invictors having a gun and decent melee win out in CoI?

Just looking at the rules, I think it all depends on how much mileage you can get out of Vengeance. Vengeance and weapon master together will allow you to secure kills. Injure during your activation and, if they don't get up, kill with Vengeance. The problem I see with it is that you only have 5 other models to trigger Vengeance.
Those are my two cents before the real Ret players arrive to discuss.

I think invictorz would be better. If you really need more damage you can just use cards too boost

Personally I am a huge of Invictors both in standard WMHs and in COI. They have solid ranged output with CRA, high enough ARM to survive POW10s, and decent threat ranges with assault. That would be my choice.

Jokes aside, thanks for your advices guys, I saw a base unit box (they're a bit cheaper without the UA) in a local store last week, I'll get them.

I've played a handful of games with the invictors, in each one they did really well. The list I ran was:
25 pts: Commander: Scyir Full invictors+ UA + Souless Run them up in groups of 3 for CMAs. Minifeat+ 3 man CRAs mean you are still getting +1 to hit, assuming your target is more than 8" away. Scyir allows them to shoot through each other and if you give him the +3 CMD upgrade he can basically reach everyone.

I ran sentinels and was not overly impressed with them for COI. Hitting so hard is often overkill. I would much rather have guns.
