Because you can't put Redline on him. A Sanctifier and Vilmon is usually better in my experience.

Bah, those only work on one target. The beauty of this list is that it'll work on everything within the aura. Rust is a 3 inch AOE

Yeah, but practically speaking you'll never tag more than one jack with it unless your opponent is incompetent or you get a very very lucky deviation.

That still requires your opponent to have placed his jacks too close together. Which is a bad idea for a host of other reasons on top of ''you have rust''.

One thing I noticed in a game last night is that the Monolith Bearer is still RAT 4. I would think he should at least be RAT 5 if not 6 (typically UAs are at least as good or better MAT/RAT wise compared to the unit)

Models that do not have ranged weapons typically have a RAT of 4. Even the CAs for those models usually don’t get a RAT bump. See the TFG CA as an example.

Or being forced to by terrain placement? I think it's easier to slam/throw said jacks together. But there are situations where you can tag more than one with rust. Just not terribly common.

Its a common mistake. The first year I played wmh I thought though Monolith bearer had a firebomb too. Nobody ever corrected me on it either, till one day I was looking at his card and noticed no ranged weapon.

I always thought he should be able to chuck the Menofix. Something like RNG 3, POW “The Fist of an Angry God.”

I never realized it. of course it never really came up before for me as the monolith bearer rarely sees combat, and even then, it is usually in melee after the rest of the unit is wiped out
