So Madrak 2 saw a real spike in popularity about a month ago, but he's usually played with a ton of infantry. I saw a clever Jalaam list where the Skorne player used Venators to trigger Warpath so he could get his titans up the board. That kind of strategy works now because there is almost always infantry for any decent ranged attacker to kill. conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G4XjnjniU0h6Gj20ki-j5j3Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North !!! Your army contains pre-release entries. !!! Your army contains a CID entry. (Madrak 2) Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Rok [19] - Troll Axer [10] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18] I like the synergies here. The Hauler can Oil targets for the Raiders to shoot and it gives everything but Madrak, the Axer, and itself +1 to all attack rolls. The Elder can give them all +1 SPD or all the warriors +2 STR. Granted, with no Mauler or Whelps, I am left banking on the feat turn to get a huge jump on attrition, but maybe I can get away with that. MAT 9 ps 19 Brawlers could get a lot done with SPD 6, berserk, overtake, and Warpath. I could put Blood Fury on one of them or on the Raiders. Since the Brawlers have reach they have a decent chance of surfing into the enemy caster with attacks to spare.

Looks cool. Bloodfury cant be put on beast ofc but that wont matter much. This makes for some really long threat ranges on the brawlers if there are any infantry models around. I like it!
As always though, this list wants to play in to infantry, but it can not really play in to cryx due to lack of magical weapons. I think some tweaking is in order, but it is not easy to manage...

The synergy with the HHH, Primal and the feat are really incredible. This is the first list that has made me want a Brawler (other than how gorgeous they look).
Good catch.

Even the humble basher will look good as a throwaway beast for pac-man action.

Even the humble basher will look good as a throwaway beast for pac-man action. He can even do it with his own animus rather than primal. The difference between a 50mm base and 2" reach and 40mm base with 1" reach is big though. A bouncer with Primal is probably better over all...

Seems like a list that looks better on paper then it will be on the table. What's triggering warpath? Lots of range 8 thrown weapons? Seems like there will be plenty of time for the opponent to maneuver around these threats. If you're looking for overtaking beast, it seems like you'd be way better served by Doomy2. Madrak2 just feels to gimmicky here.

In this list i think that raiders are a melee unit who happens to have a ranged attack rather than the other way around though...

In this list i think that raiders are a melee unit who happens to have a ranged attack rather than the other way around though... It's no coincidence that both Warpath and their own Quick Work can trigger off of their melee and I have two ways of buffing their melee damage. I went with one max unit of Raiders over 2x Fire Eaters largely because of Blood Fury. I also forgot another reason that I gave Madrak 2 the Brawlers, which is FM: Relentless Charge.

I have recently gone back to this and finally played it. Twice actually, winning both games. In the second one, however, I swapped out the Hauler and second Brawler for Champs and Rok. Both versions of the list were quite fun and very effective. The feat turns can be devastating, though part of that might be opponents forgetting somewhat how to play around it. I like how mobile, agile, and aggressive the list feels. I definitely made some errors in positioning but was able to recover well. Next, I want to try Eilish. conflictchamber.com/#c7501b_-0G4XjniU0hjqj66Gj20li-j5iTbK___-0biViRiRjpiU7h0hjq6R6R0k0mk8Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North (Madrak 2) Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Rok [19] - Troll Axer [10] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Eilish Garrity, the Occultist [5] Fell Caller Hero [5] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [5] I have also considered swapping out the Champs for Bears and a Chef. Or then, instead of Eilish, I could have 6 points to spend on maybe Whelps and a Feralgiest. The first pairing I have considered is Tim Banky's Cygnar drop, though I would rather maximize the stone in a melee beast brick. I could do that if I replaced the second batch of Whelps with a Gobber Chef. I really love the new version of the Madrak2 list, seems like the Brawler and Rok combined with the feat can really do a lot of work on feat turn. I do worry however that you may struggle to deal with high defense targets as there are no boosted attacks outside of the beasts and Madrak2.
It the Champions I'm not really too sure about. Sure you can make them double weapon masters but they are slow and more importantly you are missing out on Bears which is the whole reason to play SoTN in the first place. Fire Eaters with Madrak2 are also pretty good at triggering warpath as boosted sprays are awesome.
I came up with the following list that I am looking to try out soon:
War Room Army
Trollblood - 75 - Madrak2 + SOTN
Theme: Storm of the North 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Madrak Ironhide, World Ender - WB: +28 - Trollkin Runebearer - PC: 0 - Rök - PC: 19 (Battlegroup Points Used: 19) - Night Troll - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Night Troll - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 2) - Pyre Troll - PC: 8

The next bullet in my chamber will be a Madrak 2 list that was inspired by this. It is not identical, but i have a larger battle group than normal. I wanted 2 units of bears to firce the opponent to bunch up and allow my feat tor work wonders conflictchamber.com/#c7201b_-0G4XjniU0hjqfI6Gj20ki-6miZiZTrollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North (Madrak 2) Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Rok [19] - Troll Axer [10] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Fell Caller Hero [5] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [3] Long Riders (max) [20] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Can it kill infantry? Yes! Can it kill ARM? Yes! Does it automatically fold on scenario? No! Does it get shot off the table? It is moderately resistant to shooting, but nothing special. Should probably pair it with something that crushes shooting and still has a reasonable game in to most things. Perhaps my Madrak 1 list with double Champions and 8 shield guards...

Why is no one running him in Storm of the North with Double Long riders!!! Pow 16 on charge with weapon-master, speed 7 arm 20 (Or speed 8 with pow 14). Reach for the feat to surf, 2 attacks to prevent getting stopped up too much from tough models. It seems so amazing! Someone needs to try it!
Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North
(Madrak 2) Madrak Ironhide, World Ender [+28] - Dire Troll Brawler [16] - Night Troll [7] - Night Troll [7] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Swamp Gobber Chef [1] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Long Riders (max) [20] Long Riders (max) [20] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handle & Battle Bears [10]
Bears force the opponent to clump, long riders hit hard for a devastating alpha, the BG eats infantry on feat turn (though 2 night trolls is obscure its so you can fit a max stone) you could always drop the max stone to a min, and replace the 2 night trolls with a second brawler

I realized that if I cut both Eilish and the Runebearer I can replace them with Battle Bears. Going down to two solos might be risky, but Mirage isn't here yet. :P Thing is, though, that with Ambush and a strong charge, the Bears can really make up for the loss of scenario presence.
