On the cursed fate front..
Would double Fire Eaters and double shaman do the trick? That's in SoTN obviously, speed buff from the cold stone they can get about..
Only issue is the Mulgnode, I was hoping that she would get the 5" range on spells for her witchy powers instead of extra dice drop the lowest.

Fire Eaters probably really like cursed fate. You do not have to light them up to do serious work against infantry then Same for shamans but with shorter threat

Yeah, there is that. I'm thinking about trying to get a "no theme" tournament going in my area, at which point they become a real contender, though.
