Oh sure we’ve all seen the good Madrak 1 Lists. We have plenty of those. Honestly though... I thought it might be tough to make a BAD Madrak 1 list, so here’s my best shot.
Out of theme of course! Minimum allowed points of course. Any ideas to make it worse???
(I’m secretly hoping we find some new synergy by looking at these tired units with our new caster.)

For instance, burrowers. If we give those guys +2 def and some lookouts they might actually kill something.

The sad thing is that I own that whole list, except for two scribes. I've either heard good things about all of those or had good experiences with them on the table. Hell, if you have a stone scribe chronicler the impaler can run to engage and then any unit turns badass (or at least tolerable, in the case of pygs) with charge of the trolls.
As an example, have had my burrowers push back Khadoran snipers just by walking up and burrowing each round. He wasn't afraid of getting killed, just of getting tied up, and even aiming snipers don't like shooting at def 17.

Im not sure i get this. Are you actually trying to make the worst list possible (cause this is no where near the worst list possible!) or are you looking for tech that is in some way hidden?

oh yeah. whelps are really bad, and support solos with nothing to support? splendid! I love that we all agree that boomhowlers belong in the list though XD

I love that we all agree that boomhowlers belong in the list though XD When all you have for a BG is 4 light warbeast paying 12 points for whelps does seem bad I mean...when they are not FF they are almost pointless. They rely to much on buffs to get work done. Having said that I have seen them work pretty well in Kriel Company as a screen. CMA and the handcannon when supported by FF spells/feats can make them do work! I am wondering if they would be good with Grissel 2 in Kriel Company deflection, dash and the unyielding feat means they can actually be pretty hard to remove. Add in a fell caller buff and they can even get decent work done in melee. I think they are better than highwaymen in certain situations in KC just because they have better all rounder weapons and armor.

For instance, with Madrak1 scouts (boxes, full healing on feat) and burrowers (def 19 and blast damage immune) might actually be able to be delivered. Lookouts coming soon might pair up with them well and create something worth testing.

Nope, not at all. They have been one of the least used Troll units for all of Mk2 and Mk3. If they had 1" melee and could ve taken as a 10 man unit then they would probably see play.

I think they should have Prey as it's thematic. Also I reckon we'll get a hunting theme at some point. One based around Grim and Grim2, One of it's benefits would be Scouts with Ambush.
