So I've been kicking around an idea for Kromac1 and need some help refining it. The original idea was to use Bestial to protect Kromac from Deneghra shenanigans, but turned into using him for a more well-rounded caster suppression list. The goal is to use Bestial, Woldwyrds, and Kromac's personal threat to heavily limit the enemy caster's ability to affect the field. However, I'm slightly stymied on how to fill out the rest of the list as too many points into anti-caster material can lead to just losing to the enemy army.
I'm looking at Woldwyrd (x2), Stalker, Skinwalkers, Ogrun Bokur as a decent core but want to hear more ideas.

Missing out on Stalkers is sad, but it gives you a lot of punching power and resilience to shooting.
Something like:
Kromac1 (+27) 2 Woldwyrd (18) Wold guardian (16) 2 Wold Warden (28) Ghetorix (21) 2 Sentry Stones (10) Wold Wight (5) Shifting Stones (3) 2 Blackclads (free) 2 Stoneshapers (free)
I'd also consider trying to fit in a fulcrum for more fury management/better threat range for triggering warpath, swapping the wight for another set of shifting stones + a stoneshaper and upgrading a warden to a guardian, or dropping...something to get a whole cluster of Wights for infantry burning. Depends exactly what you're going for. The list has two forest walls to protect Kromac, shield guards, and hits at POW 20 on the guardian. Haven't tested it as much as I'd like, but it seems promising.

Oncomingstorm is right Kromac 1 is really good all rounder in Bones. Apply Wild aggression to Gheto, Apply IR to anchor wolf of choice. Play the grind. Bestial and Warpath woth Wolds is awesome.
I have been playing around with him in Wild Hunt. It’s surprisifbly decent. But I think it has drawbacks in attrition play.
Kromac1 -Stalker -Pureblood -2 Wyrds -Gorax Max Skinwalkers with UA Max Wolves with UA Shifting stones
I need a solo for scoring....You could easily take out the gorax for a bookor and swamp gobbers. But there have been a couple games now were I actually regretted not having primal for once.

I'm surprised that works for you - I'd personally feel like the BG is really light, but then I always tend to run Kromac (both) with the absolute largest BG I can get away with. How are the skinwalkers working for you? I haven't put them on the table since Mk3 hit - IMO they're a unit that was quite mediocre in Mk2 that somehow got worse going into Mk3.

I'm on a 7 games long winning streak with Kromac1 CotW:
(Kromac 1) Kromac the Ravenous [+26] - Feral Warpwolf [18] - Pureblood Warpwolf [17] - Scarsfell Griffon [8] - Scarsfell Griffon [8] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Warpwolf Stalker [19] - Druid Wilder [0(4)] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Gallows Grove [2] Ogrun Bokur [5] Shifting Stones [3] Swamp Gobbers Bellows Crew [2]
-Absylonya 2, oracle: won the starting roll, rushed forward setting the engage line upfield and cutting her out of scenario. In this match bestial shooting down the hex-bolt trigger of alfa hunter is big. 5-0 on scenario.
-Helynna, legion of dawn: won the starting roll, rushed forward setting the engage line upfield. This allowed me to back-up during his feat and win by attrition/scenario 7-2.
-Reznik 2, faithfull masses: this happened during a steamroller, my paring was with Krueger 1 DH, was a bad match for both of my list but i want to unlock myself (we play with D&C) and I dropped Kromac. Was kind of grindy game, I was down on time but he parked his caster 12" away from a flesh-is-weak-ed feral who sealed the game. Assassination win with like 3 minutes on clock.
-Dreamer, dark managery: he played the 6 hevy build, traded early a stalker for the death knell, withouth the arm buffing aura I attritioned him dow. Bestial is a big deal here. Scenario win 6-1.
-Madrak, band of heroes: he played champions and lots of dudes, I lost the starting roll and I goes down on scenario. I won on clock on 6th turn.
-Lucant, clockwork legion: terrible match, scenario was outlast, but a wild aggressioned/primaled feral reached Lucant during feat turn end killed him.
-Issirya, legion of dawn: outlast again, match started well, but some unluky rolls (wild aggressioned stalker failing at killing a griffon, pureblood missing 3 hitting roll on 5+ out of 6 on grouped sentinels) costed me a stalker. Lukily a speedmorfing/trampling/primaled/wild-aggressioned feral reached Issyria face. Assassination win. Again bestial keeping blinding light out of the game made his shooting manageable.
Kromac 1 in CotW is super fun. But feel fragile and dice-sensible. Losing a stalker early is crippling...
Free sprinting/wild-aggressioned stalker are super good tought. In general wild-aggression and warpath make our heavys work like real heavys, with respectable treathrange, free charge and reliable accuracy.

Just put this list together with Kromac1 in Bones, and am super excited to play it. Definitely non-traditional, but looks very very fun to play
---
Circle Orboros - pKromac - Bones
Theme: The Bones of Orboros 3 / 3 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army
Kromac the Ravenous - WB: +26 - Kromac the Ravenous (BEAST FORM) - Druid Wilder - PC: 0 - Ghetorix - PC: 21 - Woldwrath - PC: 37 (Battlegroup Points Used: 26) - Woldwyrd - PC: 9 - Woldwyrd - PC: 9
Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 3 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 3 Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 3 Blackclad Wayfarer - PC: 0 Blackclad Wayfarer - PC: 0
Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3 Stoneward & Woldstalkers - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10
THEME: The Bones of Orboros
---
It's obviously largely focused on assassination. Ghetorix gets WA, and then can threat non-linearly 16" (3" warpath, 9" charge, 2" reach, 2" extra charge with wayfarer) with free charges and auto-boosted attack rolls. If he feels like it, he can warp for Murderous and get 4d6 on a caster to hit.
Getting extra 2" of charge from wayfarer won't be too difficult because Woldwrath animus can give him 3d6 to hit.
Scenario play also seems very viable (which seems to always be the issue with lists I build), with an arm 22 Woldwrath (IR) and plenty of solos/units to contest.
2 Wyrds plus Bestial lays down a very large area of no/limited spells. And the Wyrds threat 20" with Warpath, so god forbid there's an upkeep out anywhere...
The biggest problem I see is fury management, which I'm hoping will be able to be taken care of by the stones.

oncomingstorm It is an OK list. I’m still learning it and working on mastering positioning with the units and BG. The skinwalkers have games where they do exactly what I take them to do, and games where they die horribly. I still am working with them but in Wild hunt they add some scenario pressure and durability the list would normally lack. I have reports up of games where I feel I learned the most about the army are. I don’t have time to post every game I play but when there is a game I feel I learned a lot from I decide it’s worth taking the time to write up. The list surprises me with its threat projections and scenario pressure. The issue is you really really want to go first so when you end up going second you tend to start out on the back foot.
