I'm curious how well trolls will fare since it seems like COI's structure makes taking the krielstone a pretty poor choice. Trolls in hordes rely on the stone to provide the armor they need to tough through enemy attacks (because they're slow) but in COI, the stone can end up taking up half your points instead of only 10-15% of your points.

I think the stone is not needed in CoI. While it still contributes and is useful to get to some extreme arm values for some rare units like Warders, in Warmachine it is mostly used to make our high arm stuff like our beasts stand up against jacks or weapon masters. Units like Fennblades or basically most infantry which is not Warders or Champions will potentially die from more or less any successful hit (unless maybe it is a Choir Priest...but nobody will be running those in CoI) no matter if we have the stone or not - both in CoI and Warmachine.
Now, if you run the stone in COI, remember the stone scribes themselves are not completely useless in fighting other infantry... (A thing which does not matter in Warmachine most of the time, but it might in CoI)

It's just an interesting shift in playstyle, I think. I'm glad I don't need the stone, I always wish I could take other, more aggressive units in its place.
