Am I right in seeing a slight disconnect between a couple of the merc theme forces and the wider PP fluff about them?
Two in particular for me:
Kingmaker Blood of Kings has this army in the fiction. The oddities are Kell, Raluk and...Damiano, none of whom appear in the book. Now I can understand the fiction not mentioning Kell (he's probably skulking around the sidelines somewhere, doing his thing) and Raluk is hardly a major character. But Damiano is a full warcaster and the book does make an issue about the allocation of jacks (especially Galleons) to particular named casters. He just seems like a surprise inclusion to the theme.
Vive le Resistance Two big ones here. The first is Damiano (again) - in his first appearance in the fiction (Wrath) he's working for the Resistance, so he seems like a sensible character to include in the theme.
The second is the absence of Steelheads. I know they're not directly Llaelese, but they repeatedly appear as working for the Resistance, providing a large part of their manpower. We get large contingents of Steelheads working for the Resistance in Wrath, Through the Darkness (which I think is also the only place we see Macbain working for the Resistance) and Aftershock.
Now I know there are probably game balance issues for this (Damiano is a great warrior caster, might not want him with Stormlances or Exemplar), but does anyone else find this a little jarring?
Just me then?

kell was part of the group of vinter buds with orin, saxon and magnus. question is why he is in but saxon isnt. saxon wasnt on magnus's side at the end so... i dunno why they put damiano in there at first but probably because it's the default steelhead theme
raluk is in there for a plausible second mechanic since no tinkers allowed
why are damiano and steelheads not in lalaese resistance? well, i made the very first post of cid explaining why they should be in using the examples you gave. soles said they would discuss it and hungerford and pagani said on the stream that they would probably get added
the next day i did 3 battle reports with crosse in lalalese resistance using steelheads. i said LR wasn't very good except with damiano and that i would run exactly the same list i ran in kingmakers but with thorns, rhupert, ragman and taryn instead of boomhowlers, kell, orin, and stannis.
and that, sir, is why they never added damiano and steelheads to LR. it makes it too similar to kingmakers. all my fault!
they did take my suggestion for pathfinder on llaelese, allowing reinholdt for crosse and 2 cygnar or protectorate units though so not all bad

I have to admit, I read your battle reports and all I could think was "Shut up man!".
