As I was reading through the thread I was thinking the exact same thing Gaston. Eilish will open up a lot of possibilities for casters that have a spell that needs to land for them to be effective. In PoM this means Reznik1 big time.
The other caster I see benefiting from the merc addition is Reznik2 as you can now bring Madelyn Corbeau and play him super aggressively against things like coven bane spam. Scalpel out the jacks and then he's basically completely safe from retaliation as long you camp 1 focus.
But this isn't a thread about casters that work well so yeah BOOO Kreoss2.
My bottom five (not completely based on play experience as some theory machine applied here): - Kreoss2 (His game is just completely overshadowed elsewhere) - Malekus (actually really excited to try him in FM so not sure he belongs here) - Feora2 (with the addition of mercs and the change to Guardians I think she may actually have play. Madelyn lets her play aggressively and tough on flameguard save you from needing Ruhpert.) - Durant2 (I just can't find something with him that I find is truly effective into the boogeyman match ups) - Harbinger (just way to easy to get her killed with inconsistent results across multiple bad match ups. I would not consider her in my competitive pairing.)

I will be the necromancer for this thread rather than creating a new one. Now that we're nearing the end of SR17, and as a group have been keeping a track of games in the stickied SR17 results thread, Charistoph did some nice analysis based on the results. It's not 100% conclusive, but it is indicative based on a "larger meta picture" - seeing as we're all from different parts of the world.

Harbinger is really excellent right now, tbh, and doesn't have many relevant bad matchups outside of Cygnar and Grymkin. She requires a high level of meticulousness to get the most out of (and to not die), but she really rewards you for putting the time in. She’s the mainstay of my competitive pairing at the moment. Anyway, to the original question, my bottom 5 are pretty familiar: 1. Kreoss 2 2. Feora 2 3. Feora 1 4. Reznik 1 5. Malekus Malekus isn’t that bad, though, and is closer to the rest of the pack than he is to these other 4. But this is a bottom 5!

I agree with your thoughts on Malekus. I feel that he is missing something. Maybe a solo to help round out his game plan. Maybe we'll get lucky and the battlebox casters get some CID time.

Malekus: add elite cadre [cleansers]. add "enemy models currently in Malekus' control range loose immunity Fire for one round" in his Feat. swap banishing ward with admonition swap open fire with deceleration or quicken

I'm also guessing that you play her in Faithful masses. You'll notice my bottom five comment was from Oct 2017 before pallies got their champ and faithful masses really became a thing. I would definitely be more open to her now in that theme. Still not going to try though. Too many other awesome things to test.

The survey on Dziekan's blog also shows bottom five.

I didn't actually notice the age of the post and only recently started using this forum, so apologies for that.
On the Faithful Masses thing, I am currently playing her in that theme. But I was also playing her out of theme a year or so ago, and she was really good then too.
