Also, where are the cards for the league? I sincerely hope PP isn't dim enough to block new COI releases behind event packages. That is exactly what they're doing. Their rationale appears to be that because there's no competitive format, they can do limited or special run Commander Upgrade Cards and have them be legal in any Company of Iron game because it's not like it'll ever disadvantage someone. By the same logic you can always get someone to send you a picture of their special cards and print your own.

It's a bit more extensive than that. Most of the upgrades grant 2 major benefits. One is generally a passive new rule or trait, and the other is generally something akin to a mini-feat, or special mechanics to do with command cards. Thank you so much, this is much appreciated. I am excited to get my copy of CoI in. As far as my meta goes there are only two or three of us that are particularly competitive and many of them have fallen away due to game length so hopefully this will be a great addition for those that have less time to play.

There is a lengthy Insider today that deals with clarifications for Company of Iron - apparently Privateer Press has a vast spy network that is watching the Internet to see what questions people have had regarding the game. (I'm betting that North Korean hackers are involved - I guess building ICBMs for North Korea has paid off.) privateerpress.com/community/privateer-insider/insider-11-10-2017There will be an official Errata and FAQ document coming out soon, and aside from some rules questions there is some discussion about CoI that is interesting. Here is a paragraph of some interest: Read the Insider and discuss!

I'm curious what platforms they're listening to other than the Rules forum, because honestly, I don't see anywhere on the forums where you can talk about COI, and the facebook groups (at least the ones I'm on) aren't chatting much about it either.

There's a FB group specifically for it that has quite a large amount of activity and also has Oz as a regular poster.

Got our first couples games in last night. It was fun, although the cost of the game versus value received is very low. If you don't have any models and are new to PP it's maybe worth $40. If you already have models, you are basically getting some cards, rules (which are all available online), some cheap tokens, cheap dice, and a laughable measuring tape. Not worth the cost of admission.
As for the game, it's fun. Definitely a good way to dip your toe into the game world. I wished there was a lot more variety in cards and commander abilities. I can see them releasing future card decks for the game.
It's a 5/10 for our gaming group.

Played CoI for the first time last night. The cards add a ton more randomness than otherwise exists in Warmachine, and can seriously swing the game. We only did one scenario. Seems like a fun one-off, but not as good (or as fast) as I wanted it to be.

Can agree, once you get used to the odd little rules that have changed it can be a fast and flowing game. It feels a bit sometimes like you need an overarching narrative or a games master or something to help drive the scenarios.

I might even volunteer myself if the locals want to do that.

Since we have a Company of Iron forum now this thread is no longer needed.
