Privateer Press has posted an Insider about Company of Iron detailing a couple of Cryx example forces: privateerpress.com/community/privateer-insider/insider-10-16-2017This ones all about horny women with whips and body snatchers. I don't get to type sentences like that too often... Wait! Hang on. They're not "horny" so much as they have horns. Sorry. More are to follow.

Huh? Really? Where is that? (I could not find it somehow... :-) They removed it already. I guess they did it by accident. I snagged a set. It is the Commander Upgrades and the Command Cards for the game. Just cards, no rules, etc.

I interpreted the CoI project as a business strategy to sell more models on the cheap. Tinker a few rules for adaptation, little ground up development. Community will beta-test it for you, and release.
Fortunately, this was a great idea for the WMH gaming community as well. We all have models we'd love to put on the table but for some reason choose not to. I imagine most players see units or models in other factions that they like, but aren't willing to do a full buy-in. CoI is precisely what was needes for these players. The only downside I've heard so far is PP stating they will never support CoI in a competitive format. I think that might be a lossed opportunity.

I have not actually played COI yet, but I hear nothing but good about it. I can see several reasons why they would make COI and I really do think it will be a big help for towns like mine where skirmish games are much more popular. It is meant to be a far more casual game where we can do anything both (or all) players agree on and are not nagging them to codify everything or rules lawyering and such.

I'm looking forward to CoI explicitly because it will be more of a low-key, easy entry point. The mk3 games i enjoyed the most were 0-point games with my group where we were figuring out the new rules and combinations, before there was so much competitiveness.

Is company of iron played a 30x30 rumble board? According to the preview in No Quarter 73 yes. Don't have the rules but I doubt they'd change that.

Ugh that one little factoid may have insta killed my bonner fir the game. I have the 30"x30" table size. It gels with no other game mats or anything like that. They could have at least made it a 3 foot by 3 foot

...Can't you just take a 3 by 3 and just make a border around it to make the rumble mat? That's what we do at my house.
