Kae Delivers the Sentinels with Blur and feat, allowing them to advance up the board relatively unharassed. Once the arrive the Phoenix, the Flanking Griffon, and the Sents make up the core of my melee force with invictors firing over the top thanks to Tactician. Hydras make great jack marshal pieces but they have done too much work for me under Phantom Hunter to take them out of the battle group. Over all I feel like it is a great combined arms lists with a good melee core, good sustained shooting, and a decent assassination threat. (Hydrax2/Kae/E1) A similar list can be built in Defenders With Halbs as your melee core and either Nyss or Rifles replacing the Invictors.
This list seems super fun, only questions I have are why the phoenix? Over like a banshee? Is it just for getting backlash off?
And how have the invictors performed for you in this list? No soulless needed?
Thanks again for sharing this list!
I really like the phoenix, the option of an arc node is always super nice along with the extra threat over the Banshee, but when it comes down to it I just seem to have a personal Animosity[Vyre Warjack].
As for how the Invictors preform they are a respectable ranged unit they are very accurate in 2man CRAs with re-rolls, mini-feat gives them range, Assault gives them an alright threat on the charge. I would like to have a soulless on both the Sents and the Invictors but I couldn't find what I was willing to drop to get them.
I like Kaelyssa into Jack lists. Particularly, Shadows with MHSF. With a forward Phoenix, Backlash a Jack, Stationary it, and then chip away with the MHSF. The Phoenix does double-duty as an infantry toaster. Plus you get all kinds of assassin solos to go after the softened caster.
Off the top of my head, two MHSF with Command gets you two free solos ( so take the expensive ones ) take Kaelyssa with a Phoenix and a Manticore (?) a couple Arcanists and you could then go take another squad of MHSF for another free solo, or just go to town with solos, or if you like Spears... so long as you have jacks to target you've got options to chip down a caster and then go for the throats with the solos and heavy jacks.
I've never faced the endless Cryx pirates, but with RFP in the Theme, it should work?
The MHSF get a bonus die against Jacks, and so long as they Damage a little bit, the primary win condition of chipping down the caster succeeds. Heck, the more times you can put a little damage on a jack, you're further ahead.
If you have 20 MHSF models with near-certain hits on a Jack, if each one averages one damage to the Jack, the caster takes a point for each damaging hit, right?
Been playing kae in defenders theme with single halbs and dual heavy rifle teams with 3x arcanist, Lys heal, fane guardian and fane knight, Afg, Helios and banshee battlegroup. Having fun and some success when i dont make stupid mistakes which aint often.
