mcdermott oncomingstorm I feel this is unreasonably harsh. Sentinels are, AFAIK, exclusively (mostly?) played with a CA. The situation where a unit is either always taken with a CA or never taken with the CA is A LOT more common than a unit that works in both situations. I can only think of Exemplar Knights as a unit that gets taken both with and without CAs. With the point and ability diferences in the mix when would you go for the Rysovass and when would you go for the Sentinels? I would go for the Rysovass when I was playing defenders and needed weaponmasters for some reason, or when they get a CA so they can behave comparably to other units. I'd consider them in the face of a new caster that provided a unit wide +2-3 pow or bonus die from something like battle lust or shatter or in the face of a caster getting silence of death because pow 12 wm with grievous wounds or a bunch of bonus dice and precise strike will scalpel the cortex/spirit out of basically any beast or jack. Edit: The big thing is, Sentinels are basically done. That unit isn't going to change very much barring a massive CID that i just don't see happening. Ryssovas have potential design space ahead of them.
