I like Primal, but only as a last resort on Warpwolves.
It's disgustingly good on Satyrs and griffons.

It's not so bad on Argus as well. I'll often use wild Argus as cheap missiles to wear down heavies for my Warp wolves to finish off.

Absolutely J.
considering you usually are trying to kill a 12-14 point heavy warjack with a 17-19 point Warpwolf, you usually need to assume that Primal has not been used.
Even in a Tuna griffon-spam list, it's very unlikely more than 2 griffons will be sporting Primal in a given turn.

Last stand even has anti-synergy with Zaal1's feat and soul collection.

I'd give you the exact wording but I'm at work. Hell you can reeve from it, on death effects work, you get a soul, all kinds of good stuff.

I think primal needs a fix, where instead of instantly frenzying at upkeep of next turn, you must role for frenzy. I like the animus, but a huge drawback is losing control of a warbeast for your next turn. I had a pureblood frenzy after a primal turn, and missed, no damage. Which made me think I made a mistake and should have frenzied my wild Argus instead.

I think people are too eager to throw primal on expensive beasts rather than throwaway lights or goats with 3 initials.

I think people are too eager to throw primal on expensive beasts rather than throwaway lights or goats with 3 initials. [ Considering our expensive beasts need primal to trade with any Heavy and kill it reliably. Primal is great on lights. But right now our faction is very limited because of it and honestly it is not a very good animus for warpwolves.

Its not a good animus for anything that costs more than 14. The satyrs are (shy of the stalker) are buffed to only 2 less than your warpwolves, but +1 to 2 attacks, two of them have chain attacks that help protect you from the retaliation should you fail to completely end a target. The stalker is 50% more than the most expensive satyr and im not entirely certain its worth it.

I really, really want to see either Rage or Rush in the faction (or both.)
Trolls get Rage, Rush, and Primal Skorne get Rage, Rush, and Primal Minions get Rage and Primal (and have way fewer beasts in general) Legion gets Slipstream (arguably the best of the lot) Circle just gets Primal, which, as far as staple animi goes, is probably the straight-up worst.

I agree that Primal is not something you want to use on your expensive beasts. Its far more useful on disposable beasts with multiple attacks and you would expect to frenzy anyway.

Skorne's access to both Rage and Primal are both limited and unofficial since they come from an unreleased theme. A theme accessible to 5 casters. Skorne doesn't just "get" Rage or Primal.

Add to your list: Legion, Circle and Grymkin get Wraithbane on the whole I agree with you though, Circle could definitely use a damage animus that does not come with a barb. -und_ed
