Circle finally getting its beast theme. looks pretty solid. Insider
Reduced animi costs for beasts and free solos are the only listed benefits. I am hoping there is a third benefit....maybe deployment bonus? Brenos is also allowed in theme! May be picking p the goat now as I think he is a really solid heavy. edit: Also allowed is one minions Solo OR Unit. I mean it isn't carapace but that is still pretty powerful. Throwing stalkers downwind and being able to sprint for free seems pretty legit. No jamming units is an issue but maybe lights can fill that gap? Discuss? is it OP? Garbage? Just right? Only time will tell!

Would a couple of Scarfell Griffons work as jam/contesting pieces? yes they are made of paper-mache, however they are still def 15 and will always be able to have elusive up, meaning they can accomplish a bit more work?

Only when you take more than 2. 2 Medium bases do not jam well but scarsfells with elusive do contest very well. The theme allows a minion unit/solo so that should be a decent compensation I missed that in my first read through.

I am not sure what Minion unit to take though, maybe Bokur and Shamblers for some dross to jam, but you have no infantry of your own to feed the recursion engine. I could see Wrongeye and Snapjaw getting taken a lot though

First impression:
- Why living only? Any reason besides supposed fluffyness? I never read about a separation between the bred beasts and the built ones... - Bradigus is now out of 2 of our themes... This seems tottaly random and for no purpose. - Isn't there a benefit missing? - I don't see this opening up casters, hope I'm wrong, becuase you still have the guns and low threat... meaning you need the same casters who protect the BG. - No circle unit besides Shifing. Druids for fluff and Blood weavers because of the healing strike could be good options for the theme.
Good stuff:
- It'll get played because we need a beast theme but I don't feel it's one of the top themes... - Minion unit or solo. Bellows crew! Lanyssa! Ambushing Ogrun! Unit for Wurmwood! (Why not both? Seemed like the norm... typo?) - Blackclad solos! Finnaly! Yay! - Cheaper Animus! Off the top of my head I get Lightning Strike, Dodge thingy and Puissance for a free benefit and Primal/Wraithbane for 1 is also sexy.
- +1 to start! YES!

Really? They finally tease a decent beast theme for Circle and it only has 2 bonuses? F'in A man that's some high level dicketry.
[Edit] Am I blind? I cannot find that +1 to starting rolls anywhere and Ctrl+F isn't helping either.

I'm worried about the scenario play. Shifting Stones are not hard to remove these days. You can help this with the minion unit, but this also means omitting Snapjaw.
The power level is (in my mind at least) definitely below Cryx's BI, but still a theme that seems rather decent. I feel this is not going to be the new hotness, but I could also be wrong. Circle themes are really hard to estimate, as the faction's success is rather meta dependant at the moment.

A circle unit would increase the recursion but it's on a beast theme... would it get traction? Probably with Wurmwood?

They move 8", I think that is the larger issue... they can't run in from safety.

Baulder has two entirely different tiers that benefit non-living heavies more. He is covered.

Why doesn't bones say non-living warbeasts for free points? On that theme a caster with a living warbeast bond can take it and not lose a free solo... Why can't baldur who is a prime candidate for this theme?

Skorne says "hi". We have a theme that can be used by all of 4 (5?) Warlocks per the theme rules. At least you have a choice to give Baldur living warbeasts if you want him in theme.
