I am trying to remember how Ground Pounder interacts with feats that protect against ranged attacks. Specifically Gunnbjorn's feat says "friendly Faction models gain cover, do not suffer damage from ranged attacks, and cannot be knocked down."
I also recall that Ground Pounder isn't a ranged attack but rather it involves ranged attack rolls, which would bypass rules/feats such as Gunnbjorn... is that still true? Or am I remembering it wrong?

Ground pounder is still a ranged attack (re-reads card) "The model makes one ranged attack against each model in the AOE". It ignores cover and all that, but is still an attack.

Reread that card again, because that isn't the wording my war room shows. Ground Pounder is a *Attack on a ranged weapon, that means it is an attack.

It sounds like you're agreeing with the person you quoted...

I quoted correctly. The rules blurb was incorrect and I added another confirmation with reasoning not yet articulated in thread.

Well I only ask because the wording of Ground Pounder says "ranged attack rolls" and I am trying to remember if that bypasses rules that interact with "ranged attacks"... I asked some folks on Facebook and they seemed to agree that GP ignores rules that say you can't target something via ranged attack, since GP isn't targeting a specific model, but apparently since I am rolling damage via a ranged * attack I will suffer through Gunnbjorn's feat.

Ground Pounder does not target, that is correct. It is, however, a ranged attack (*attack on a ranged weapon).
