I've been wanting to use the Beast Mistress because I have one and have had trouble delivering her and her beasts. The troubles I have come across are either having them shot off the table before they get to the enemy or not having them do enough damage to be worth their points. So I've created this 75 point list and wanna know some other opinions on it.
Lylyth1 -Succubus -Typhon -Seraph -Bolt Thrower
Beast Mistress -Shredder -Shredder -Shredder
Forsaken Deathstalker Deathstalker Shepherd
Blightblades Scouts -UA
The main concerns I see from this list would be dealing with multiple enemy heavies. Typhon can easily deal with one or two. The Beast Mistress group could deal with another. Lylyth's parasite would help with enemy heavies. A substitute for more armor busting could be a Carnivean and Forsaken instead of the strider units. Thoughts?

Dropping one shredder and the scouts could get you a scythean or angelius in the list which will go a long way to cracking armour.
With two deathstalkers in the list the loss of an anti-infantry unit shouldn't hurt too much.

I think two shredders is plenty with the beast mistress (and they generate the max fury she can leech) if you can deliver that unit to a heavy under parasite you should be able to one round it.
Average dice against arm 20 (assuming no energiser needed and one shredder charges first)
First shredder causes 2 damage Beast mistress causes 9 damage Second shredder causes 8 damage
Under parasite this damage increases to:
First shredder 8 damage Beast mistress 18 damage Second shredder 14 damage
Certainly a pretty decent threat.

Fair enough. I guess I am used to Shredders getting easily picked off before they can get to an enemy heavy, so in my mind three of them would ensure that two of them would be alive and able to attack.

Thagrosh1 Fog of war helps quite a lot. Thagrosh can also just run a smaller heavy-centric battlegroup and athanc keeps him from loosing out on fury. Though the loss of parasite is harsh. but you could cycle DB from the Beast mistress and the shredders if you wanted. In the case with Thagrosh I use the lessers as a "first meets the enemy", or the second wave while the feated back heavy can't join combat. Also, I would drop the 3rd shredder for a harrier. The harrier is less of a loss to charge/run first. Annoyance also makes it harder for what the group engaged (if it survived) to hit any of the involved models.

I could see decent potential out of a Thags1 Oracles list with free Forsaken/Succubus if you go beast heavy along with a Beast Mistress. BFS would help with not having Parasite and they gain apparition from the theme.

Another good caster for the beast mistress is Kryssa as her feat effects all models in her control area not just her battlegroup

The problems you've described (too hard to deliver and does too little for too much points) are generaly reasons she isn't played at all. She is weak. I believe you have too much of infantry removal, with Scouts, Blightblades and double DeathStalkers. Turning Deathstalkers and Blades into Swordsmen would provide you with another way to remove heavy, while still being great against infantry. Also, they will screen BM while being more priority targets for most players. TBH I would think about Childrens of the Dragon or Oracles Themes for BM sheananigans. Probably Oracles mostly. First off, free UAs and solos are always great, and second... Well, free UAs and solos are great. I believe Thags1 is the man when it comes to delivering BM and her battlegroup (or anything else for that matter). Under Oracles and with infantry I would consider taking Spawning Vessel too. That way you can replenish BMs battlegroup. Fair enough. I guess I am used to Shredders getting easily picked off before they can get to an enemy heavy, so in my mind three of them would ensure that two of them would be alive and able to attack. I don't believe they will be priority target TBH. If anything I believe BM will be targeted first.

I've been thinking of using her in a Fault 1 Oracle's list. I have her running 3 shredders and she's free due to the theme bonus. With Incite the Shredders can be effectively MAT 9, power 12 weapon masters (mat 11 with Chiller).

Most players will shoot the BM off the table and laugh raucously as your lessers go wild.
