How would one efficiently expand, trying to keep models down to a minimum and also taking into consideration keeping a 75PT viable army that follows ADR rules?
Suggestions? Can buy a few models on the side, but wanting again to use what comes in the boxes for the most part. Thoughts?
(I play Cygnar, but thinking of branching out. Right now im okay with Cryx not being OP. Just would like a small army that I can play over and over and get better at in SR's.)

Dont know Crxy/this game well enough. (I invested into Cygnar, played my first SR over the weekend and have made a few realizations in which Cryx sorta comes to the forefront as favorable due not liking Cygnar as much as id like Crxy's models.) As for pairing and casters not sure what you mean. Money wise id like to buy the AIO and have potential access to a MKII BB thats sitting in a closet at a friends house (he never got past buying some NIB stuff, in the game.) My actual goal here Nyxu, is to pickup Cryx and play with a list that I can learn the game on. Originally I tried that with Cygnar but again many reasons besides the stated, ive changed my mind. So id assume buying the AIO isnt a bad idea, and id assume there are a few models besides the BB (if I can get it,) that are staples all around. Id like to make an investment that will get me going and give me play for a good 6-12 months without having to worry much about buying new models all the time (college student, so the "initial" investment will probably be the biggest that I prefer having it have good "staying power" for times to come. So im cool with spending some money, but want to make sure I can use what I buy for a good while and a good chunk can lateral over to other casters/lists.) |

OK cool, here's what schwas:
Get yourself the AIO, it's a fantastic starting point. Play it at 50pts for a while. See what you like and what you don't like about the caster, about the list. Magnetize every warjack kit you can because you'll want to be able to try out every combination.
From there, good expansion points are:
Barathrum: You won't be finding a used model of this, not likely. He's 60buxx. He's also apparently really good. I don't have him yet. Downside: He's just one warjack.
Carrion Thralls: Bird is the word. Put Cloak of Ash on them and they're just an annoy-o-tron. They can do some silly things and I genuinely love this unit.
Satyxis: The metagolem of cryx right now is running Satyxis. They're fast, they can hit decently, and they hit consistently with gang, crit-KD, and multiple attacks.
Ghost Fleet: Got 300USD? Want to buy into the other metagolem? The Ghost Fleet is a bunch of rev crew and some support thereof. Unless you're gonna play ghost fleet, you may want to give them a pass.
Stalkers: A pair of these is a great pickup. They have a large threat projection, and can attach to either warcasters or Aiakos for some neat scalpel play.
A unit of Carrion Thralls, Satyxis gunslingers, Raiders+ua, a Scavenger or two, and two stalkers. That's my leaning as far as suggestions are concerned. Between that, the BB, and the AIO you'll have a good stable. Maybe Barathrum if you want him.
But, my genuine assessment: Play at 50pts for a while first. Find what you like.

Oh, also. If you're learning Cryx: Iron Lich Asphyxious. He's a fantastic entry point, and he teaches a lot of core cryx mechanics. Similar to Aggy, I think.

All of them can use your bane warriors and all of them work well with a Seethers/Slayers/Inflictors/Cankerworm. Since you're already jack heavy and the only battlegroup caster in the ADR is Aiakos2, that's probably where's I'd start. Something like: 75 / 75 Army Captain Aiakos - WJ: +29 - Cankerworm - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9) - Ripjaw - PC: 7 (Battlegroup Points Used: 7) - Reaper - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13) - Inflictor - PC: 13 - Seether - PC: 13 Bane Warriors - Leader & 9 Grunts: 17 - Bane Warrior Officer & Standard - Officer & Standard: 6 (new models)Satyxis Gunslingers - Leader & 2 Grunts: 7 Mechanithralls - Leader & 9 Grunts: 10 - Brute Thrall - PC: 2 - Brute Thrall - PC: 2 - Brute Thrall - PC: 2 - Skarlock Commander - PC: 3 Would be a potential start. As you have more to spend on units I'd recommend working your way up to Gaspy2 next and then when you're more comfortable trying out Agathia and Denny2. |

Really helps me understand what I need to invest in! If you don't have to go with the ADR, stick with Gaspy3 to start and bring in Mortenebra as a sub. You're going to be jack heavy anyway with the battlebox and the AIO so there's no point in moving away until you have more money. As others have said Satyxis Raiders are a good unit, especially with Gaspy3 and ashen veil. I'd definitely start there. |

Good advice so far, especially on magnetizing the heavy jacks. The All-on-one army box is a good starting point for a 50 point Cryx army, and Asphyxious the Hellbringer is a really solid caster. Based on what's included in the box I would definitely recommend expanding with a unit of Satyxis Raiders + the Sea Witch UA, plus Aiakos Scourge of the Meredius + Stalker.
Aiakos can fully fuel the Stalker while also upkeeing Escort which gives the Stalker a nasty 15" non-linear threat range with Bounding Leap. Great for picking off solos, causing havoc, and caster kills. The Satyxis Raiders work great with Asphyxious' Cloak of Ash spell bringing their defense up to 18 against shooting plus immune to blast damage with the Sea Witch's Whipping Winds prayer. Plus these are 2 modules that are currently Cryx staples and can be slotted into a lot of lists.
Just drop the Bane Warrior Officer & Standard Command Attachment, add those 2 modules, and you have a solid 75 point army. As for purchases beyond that I would echo some of the other posters and recommend Barathrum (general considered best overall heavy warjack in Cryx) and Machine Wraiths (awesome 2 point filler incorporeal models that are great for grabbing scenarios and bringing opposing jacks into your Bane's shortish threat range).
Other units/models you will want to pick up are more caster dependent and includes Carrion Thralls, Satyxis Blood Witches + Blood Hag UA, Satyxis Gunslingers, Blackbane's Ghost Raiders, Satyxis Raider Captain Solo, Warwitch Siren Solo, and maybe some more arc nodes (Deathripper or Nightwrench) if you are playing a spell slinger like Deneghra1.

It's hard to offer an informed assessment without getting table time with the models but eMortenebra and Kharybdis aren't looking very impressive. The Hellslinger Phantom is looking cool as a super solo and I will likely pick up him, but I have found that finding the points for solos is pretty tough in MK3 Cryx lists. Plus he is competing with Satyxis Gunslingers for the 7 point shooting slot and I would still probably lean towards fielding them.
