I'm not a fan of the Swamp Horror as a model. When it came out I tought it has a very simple shape (Basically just a sphere with a mouth plus some tentacles). When I saw it's price I decided to build my own from scratch(and by scratch I mean a tablesoccer ball, styrofoam, a transparent plastic card for the water, and lotsa GS of course). I don't have any talents or significant experience about sculpting, but I think it turned out really well, and that means you can do it too.

I really like this. It's miles better then the standard sculpt (which is pretty sad).
Well done!

Very well done! It turned out great. I really like the water effect - that's just a clear plastic piece over a painted base?

Yes, the only difference is that I painted on the back of the plastic piece, not on the base, so I had to do the paintjob in reverse. (Highlights first, then after it dried, a basecoat.)

Nicely done! I was surprised to read it was entirely scratch built.
