Proteus can be really good into Trolls because he can potentially pull models out of the Krielstone aura which makes them much, much easier to kill.
My experience against Trolls has been almost entirely in MK2 but there are general concepts that still hold true.
1) Trolls rely heavily on the Krielstone armor aura. Anything you can do to shrink the size of that aura will make your life easier in the long haul. Sending Deathstalkers and/or Annyssa running up the flanks of the table early on to start working on sniping out Krielstone unit members is big.
2) Unless you're playing against Doomy2 you'll get the alpha strike. You need to deal crippling damage with your alpha or you need some way of being able to alpha strike twice. Abby2 is best at performing one devastating alpha on Feat turn, Fyanna2 is generally better at keeping her army alive long enough to alpha a second time with her Feat + Admonition.
3) Either kill things all the way or not at all. It's rarely worth it to wound a Troll beast and leave it on a few boxes. Between Whelps and Snacking it's easy for them to mend crippled aspects without having to activate their Warlock.
As for how to build Fyanna2 to take on Trolls this could work:
Fyanna2
- Proteus
- 2x Angelius
- Seraph
- Neraph
Sorceress & Hellion
2x Deathstalker
2x Forsaken
Shepherd
Spell Martyr
If you want to build in a theme you're probably better off doing it in Oracles compared to Ravens since Ravens isn't really an armor cracking theme. Oracles gives you your support pieces like Forsaken for free in exchange for taking Warbeasts that will let you power through Troll armor.
Fyanna2 - Oracles of Annihilation
- Succubus (free)
- 3x Angelius
- Seraph
- 2x Neraph
- Raek
- Shredder
Sorceress & Hellion (free)
2x Forsaken (free)
Shepherd
Spell Martyr
