Everyone gets nice things once in a while. Even ret  The similar appearance of the new unit to Legionnaires is based purely on fluff. Does the new unit look awesome? Yes. Do Legionnaires need some help? Hell Yes. Does that have anything to do with Ret getting a new unit? No. Legion has lots of nice things to play with so I don't really care. Hopefully sometime soon PP will address the power level of Legionnaires. |

Honestly, I was expecting Ret to get some Nyss for a while now. It actually kinda didn't make sense that they had recovered Nyssor and yet Nyss hadn't flocked to Ios in such numbers to represent at least some new characters. Seems like they did exactly that. I'm not sure how I feel about Ret basically just getting the unblighted version of our own models (except better looking). There were lots of other Nyss-ey things they could have done, and this feels too close to just a one-up on another faction. It would be like if Cygnar got new Morrowan knights that were just cooler Exemplar.
I'll probably buy them anyways.

Rules wise, the priest solo is cool. Making Nyss better at hitting and immune to cold. Like it. I suggested we might get something simalar vs cold magic at some point. When ret get enough Nyss, we can go collect and put in pot. Sounds good. I hope that we get a theme force eventually where we can take some ret units and they gain blighted, and partisan. Ret getting cool stuff is good  |

What's in our command book besides the two warlocks and Azreal? Because that Ret book seems to have a lot more new stuff in it. Or was the nyss warlord and grotesque assassin and that stuff in the command book as well?

I do have to question why Ret are getting a SECOND 10 man weapon master unit. It seems a bit much. I wonder if they'll get CID tested.

Nothing in the command books is going through CID, but it doesn't mean that IF they're too good they will not be going through CID/nerfs in the future.

Having simmered down after a few minutes of incredulity, my final reaction is meh. If all they have is weapon master, and MAT7 like most other Ret melee infantry, they're basically our weapon masters but armored up. This is assuming they weren't given a statline like 14/17 or set defense.
