Oddly enough, not seen anything on the Hammer strike theme list, well I am happy it's finally here, as a MKI player who started with a pure searforge list, I am planning to main this theme for a while. What are your experiences so far with this if any, also if you've played against it, any feedback is welcome.

I've played hammerstrike and it's a solid list, but only with one caster. Durgen and Gorten are probably better off played in some of the new upcoming theme lists, but Ossrum can still make a hammerstrike theme work. Over all it can cover a lot of questions (reasonably good armor cracking with jacks and forge guard, recursion with siege crawler, anti stealth with siege crawler, good shooting with bunnies and artillery, and even magic weapons with TAC if needed).

With Ossrum, it sees a lot of play. Still a fair bit of debate on whether it should be all bunnies or all heavies or a mix, but good no matter what. Free HACs is amazing.

Ossrum with double BE + double Forge guards is very powerfull as well.
It brings control (with the critical stagger) and recursion.

If you're playing all bunnies, irregulars will be the way to go. 17 bunnies and 4 free solos of your choice.
Hammerstrike will still be good, but only if you want to run Dwarven infantry under a dwarven caster with benefits for dwarven heavies.

It does seem like Ossrum will continue being the only Hammer Strike caster worth mentioning. The other Dorfs will be better off in Irregulars.

Well, Gorten was already better out of theme and Madhammer...wasn't really in the discussion. Irregulars just seems to be giving both a power boost while giving Ossrum options.

I'm not sure there is that much debate now really mate. Most lists at the WTC for example took 4 or 5 bunnies and a few heavies, so I'd say a mix is definitely best. All lists are here btw - conflictchamber.com/?event=15

Bunny spam is pretty much left behind by serious competitors. I mean it's a cute list, and is fairly fun to play, so those are all good things. But it really fails in the current state of the game - and especially the 2017 scenarios.

Bunny spam will see play in Irregulars. I still like the healthy mix of bunnies and heavies, but the free solos will push the assassination vectors even higher. terrain might be an issue, but i still think the list will be competitive.

I feel like the fact that the three posts immediately following mine are debating the validity of a mix and bunny spam only emphasis that this isn't "solved" yet. Not saying that there aren't stronger arguments than others, but the conversation is clearly not over.

Is the earthshaker dead? I checked the confict chamber's lists and all I see in hammer strike is the BE but not the colossal.

Is the earthshaker dead? I checked the confict chamber's lists and all I see in hammer strike is the BE but not the colossal. The Earthbreaker is pretty underwhelming. Its problem is that its ranged attacks top out at POW13 which just isn't enough to deal significant damage to things like heavy jacks.

The Earth breaker is pretty much done competitively for now (who knows about the future). the problem is that you can take a mix of jacks to get similar output (if not better output) and thanks to power up, the focus load isn't quite as much. I've been trying with Madhammer to make a list that might use it, but the loss of blast armor really makes you feel the 6 focus with all the things he wants / needs to do.

bunny spam fine depending what you want to play it into and what ur other list do. want to be better into cryx? drillers don't help. legion? more bunnies. circle? drillers dont get there. cygnar and ret depends on the caster. in irregulars u get arm debuffs and mebbe upkeep removal from ol' elish
avoid trolls, protectorate and khador
