And how good is the Storm Raptor?
It looks great, but is it a dust eater on a shelf?

And how good is the Storm Raptor? It looks great, but is it a dust eater on a shelf? I have only played against it, so I still need more table time to do a proper analysis. Still, it seems to be decent in certain specific lists. I encountered Kromac2 with Storm Raptor, Feral, Stalker, double Blackclad Wayfarers and double Sentry Stones. It has a low model count and looks quite easy to block but the Storm Raptor with Vengeful got the Beak disruption hit on my heavy hitting 'jack and made things difficult for me. I can certainly see lists which it can play into (I also wonder about Krueger for a lightning-themed army. Storm Striders and Hurricanes are popular around here and a Gargantuan with immunity to lightning might be very useful).

oh, and don't forget to magnetize the kit, so that you can try out different styles of models and play.
The may want to read up on tactics with shifting stones, Tanith battlebox and satyres. or watch a few vids

Think you are gonna be a tad disappointed with the satyrs. Judo goat is pretty good but the other 2 are mediocre at the best of times. If they had native pathfinder they would be great, as it stands.... For a cheaper cost you can buy 2 woldwyrds (9.99 a piece) Which you will use in just about every list as you learn the faction more Seriously I highly recomend them they have won me so many games and work incredibly with tanith. This is my recommendation for progress after a battlebox: BB 1: 1 to 2 woldwyrds and 1 unit of shifting stones 2: 2 Sentry Stones 3: Reeves of Orboros (and UA) 4: New caster (based on purchases either wurmwood or Kromac 1 if you feel wurmy is too mainstream) 5: Loki (cuz tanith loves her character heavy) After this you have 70 points for Tanith that you can fill in with mercs or other units and support and also have a second caster you play around with. Both Wumrwood and Tanith can run those models together really well (argus with wurmy is a but of a meh but kromac loves him) I really do not think the goat kit is worth purchasing until you have a better feel for the faction They take a lot of work to get them to do anything worthwhile and honestly our other heavy options are just better even if they are more expensive.

I disagree with Macdaddy about the Satyr models being bad. In my experience, the Shadowhorn (Judo Goat) and Riphorn (Punch Goat) do their jobs very well.
I would agree with him that Sentry Stones should be high on the list of early models. They're dollar cheap, easy to paint, and very functional on the table.
I'd recommend that however you expand both of you stick with the same list at maybe 50 points for at least 10 games and focus on skill building rather than list design.

If we had a way to give the goats pathfinder or if they had it inherently I would be more keen on taking them. As it stands they are very slow (for circle anyway) and in SR2017 I have had issues getting them anywhere useful. Lack of pathfinder is one of the main reasons I do not take ferals anymore. :/

Just a reminder, his wife wants to play satyrs and druids, so why not help build a solid list instead of saying it's bad?
As a side note, I have seen lists where the person ran wildhunt theme, with Tanith, and did a decent job. I am still new but it seemed a solid list. Tanith (31wb) Gorax Rampages Wild Argus Pureblood Warpwolf Shadowhorn Satyr (12points) Loki. (19 points) Shifting Stones. (3 points) Reeves of Orboros(16 points)
Mind you, I think it is solid. Because you can use Tanith's affliction ability, Wild Argus howl, and the Reeves to pretty much one shot any enemy warcaster. Also of note, they did also say you could drop the Argus for the Reeve Hunter and another set of shifting stones. Or go out of theme (losing pathfinder on your goat) and put in a Druid Wilder and Gallows Grove for extending Tanith's range on her spells.
Even just mocking up models and play testing what you think you want to try may help. Just remember, it is a game, don't take it too seriously or you might miss the fun.

I have only just gotten Goatvanna and have yet to use her but from what I've seen she struggles a bit in markIII. She was popular last addition because of her infantry bent.
